November Monthly Update! Greens!

It turns out that monthly updates may have to be the way we do it this time around!

I've been hard at work on the greens and they are looking pretty sweet. I'm excited to be sending little halflings, grippli, and hengeyokai off to the caster's later this week!

Keep in mind as you look at the greens that these children and companion figures are not the normal halfling size. These figures are only at around 1/2 to 3/4 as tall as halflings and therefore appear to have a little less detail than the halflings themselves will have. (You can see the female hengeyokai standing next to the normal-halfling-sized weapons and food to get a sense of that scale difference!)

That kid halfling looks like a troublemaker. I can make him into a tiny hockey player. Is he missing an arm or is it folded around his back, hiding something? Either way. [OK, looking back at the concept art, his arm is just behind him.]

And I suddenly love the idea of having amputated halfling feet lying around.

Yay!

I was beginning to worry.

I'm getting none of the figures shown, but progress is good

bring on the mounts!

I've updated my pledge on this one for the third time. Whose idea was it to add post-KS pledging? This is killing my budget for gaming!

Completionist helps with my desire to do things like that. Out of sight, out of mind...

I didn't get the completionist. There some figures I wasn't interested in but there were a number I wanted multiples of. Building an army of halflings! Including heavy, medium, anf light cavalry!

I never thought about that. There is a huge variety of sculpts and you could easily build a huge adorable army, and even have a supply train packing food and siege weapons!

Oh nice! It seems I missed another kickstarter that produced halfling soldiers!

Edit: crap! It looks like I didn't miss it!! The Westfalia Fantasy Battles website says the KS kicks off in December!!

Edit #2: It looks like December 16 is the date this one starts . . . We now return you to your regularly schedule Stonehaven Miniatures discussion . . .

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

If anybody here loves cavern terrain and missed DF's first cavern KS KS2, this spring/summer around June DF will have KS6. The theme of KS6 will be Return to the Caverns and should be great fun for those who took part in KS2 or those who are new to DF.

DF had this to say and showed the below teaser pics

We're doing for Caverns what Dungeon of Doom did for Dungeons. A whole new batch of fun pieces to enhance your existing collection, but also completely stand-alone.

      Some of the key features:
New Core Shapes (diagonal wall, convex curves, 1" pieces, etc)
      Passages
Elevation (with stuff that's impossible on graph paper...)
Negative Space pieces (and new Terrain Trays)
      Flashy Pieces (Magnets & LEDs)
      Large pieces (4x4 and larger)

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
