Mad Jack
Rowdy Roddy passed away at age 61... He died of cardiac arrest. I like him a lot, even when he was being a total wanker on the air... Piper was larger than life, and that won him a hell of a lot of fans.

ShadowRaven
Daamn. He was really a good guy, his persona really was just that. Far too young. R.I.P Roddy
Florin
I guess he really is all out of bubble gum now.
Bruunwald
"They Live" is not only an underrated Sci Fi flick, and not only contains one of the longest one-on-one fistfights ever filmed, it also has one of the most memorable endings ever. Most of us can only hope to get one more off like that. Much lesser known, was a late-night cable fave of mine - a flick called "Hell Comes to Frog Town." A hilariously good/bad sci fi mutant apocalypse movie, where Roddy drives a pink - yes, PINK - panel van around a wasteland. Awesome.

Grumpy Cave Bear
I just borrowed "They Live" from the library earlier this year to watch with my daughter. She hated that extended fight scene; I loved it! It must be chromosomal differences. RIP Roddy. I remember watching you as a kid, from your time on Saturday night Portland Wrestling. Kheprera
Meh. Was not a huge wrestling fan but there were a few I liked and Roddy was one. RIP Piper.
CashWiley
They Live was a great movie to find by accident while in an altered mental state. I just saw Roddy on a rerun of Storage Wars with Barry Weiss! He lived hard, but he lived well.
Qwyksilver
South Park in the "Cripple Fight" episode has Timmy and Jimmy brawling in a move-for-move homage to the fight in They Live.

Suden
He was a real character, he will be missed. His whole shtick was great, whether you loved or hated him, you never forgot him. I watched the whole They Live movie last night for the first time in decades. Of course I return to a few clips time and again. Roddy's legendary fight with Keith David never gets old (Keith really doesn't like sunglasses). If you search for the sunglasses scene (where he first wears them) you can find a 10 minute clip on youtube describing it as one of the greatest scenes in film, I agree with the assessment. The sunglasses scene culminates with the legendary bubblegum line. It has some aspects that identify it clearly as a cheesy b-movie, but it holds up remarkably well. It has so many great elements of horror and comedy, along with some biting social commentary. And it is really well shot, you really feel out of sorts watching it, almost as if you feel the blinders being removed along with the protagonist. Of course I was already a little out of sorts since I had just heard about him passing away. RIP Rowdy.
