kay13
Papercraft dice as decorations - they were used as decorations at a Geeky themed wedding pictured in showoffs recently..... ED: and maybe if you are going the potion route.... make some of them less nice.... like fruit tea with milk in it (it curdles the milk slightly and makes it look truely disgusting.... ) Edited August 3, 2015 by kay13

That was my wedding that Kay mentioned; if you want the templates that we used I can try to find them on the laptop when I can get to it. Potion drinks would have been one of my suggestions as well, along with cookies in themed shapes (castles, dragons, swords etc).

Jokemeister
I'm not allowed to LARP and my friends are all somewhat close to the age of 15 so I think playing with foam swords and things might be a bit below them. You NEVER get too old for foam swords. As a parent with 2 kids - I know this to be true!

You NEVER get too old for foam swords. As a parent with 2 kids - I know this to be true! Eventually, yes. But I can understand where she's coming from, when you're a teenager around that age you can get a bit self conscious about appearing less mature than your peers, even if you do secretly want to run around with foam swords.
Magnus Mercury
My friends are not quite as geeky as I when it comes to DnD and things they love anime SPN and Doctor Who, not so much anything else. I had to look up SPN. If my guess is right, that is the TV show Supernatural? I'm glad someone found it. I tried searching for it, but Google kept thinking I meant "ESPN"...

HornedTurtle
Maybe use chocolate chips as counters for monster hit points that people get to eat as they hit. M&M's would be less messy, lol

M&M's would be less messy, lol I was going with the dye allergy thing, otherwise I would have recommended other candies.
Girot
Play "Castle Panic" by make the castle walls out of gram crackers and use candy/cookies for the monsters. Make the actual cake the castle in the middle so they would have to get past the defenses to get to the cake.
Loim
I'm 37 and I'd love playing with foam swords, but maybe that's just me. How about character sheets or monster cards as placemats?
