Marbrezuk (02656) Glabrezu

Recommended Posts

I love how different people can take the same creature and go completely opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm currently painting a glabrezu from the Fractured Dimensions line and I'm completely in warm tones. I like what you did!

very nice!   I like how you have managed to make the brown fur and the green skin work together and the bluish shading/blend on the claws is the topping on the cake touch.

You did a great job on it!

ETA--looking at it some more, I think it'd look better on a bigger base, but that's just nitpickiing.

Thanks for all the kind words all! Keeps me painting!

Love it! You're quite prolific, aren't you?! ;p

I get between 3 and 4 hours per work day to paint in the evenings, and I am always working on a bunch of different minis. If I start to lose the muse on one, I usually find it on another. I have 5 kobolds, an ogre, a demon bunny, and Neroli all in some stage of work, as well as Thornwart. Thornwart just needs his basing finished and will be up tonight. Plus another 20 odd that are primed, some with at least 1 color on them....

The blue on the claws is airbrushed on, and the edges highlighted, so I can't take much credit for the blending there

I don't usually base monsters with more than they come with, unless there are wobble issues, or have fiddly things like out stretched wings, tentacles, etc, or have no base at all. (The Remorhaz is an exception, but it may get something now as I have learned to do a winter base.)

As they are also gaming pieces as well, but we are not all that picky about distance in fights....

NP, George.

Yeah, depends on what cell phone you have, some of the best cameras nowadays are actually on cell phones and tablets.

Gorgeous job. Sounds like you have a similar WIP pile to mine

Just about every pic I posted on the forum and in the inspiration gallery up until mid September was taken on a cel phone. Now that I found my real camera, maybe people can actually see my paint jobs as opposed to blurry pics...

Yes I always have a lot of projects going on at once...

Takhisis

2 Candelabra

an Urn / Giant's spitoon

An Efreeti

A Hellhound being re worked

A badger

A fox

A half orc ranger

The Pillar of Evil

Re Basing a Displacer Beast for a tutorial

Those are some of the things I am working on...

Not to mention the stuff that is primed!

I couldn't come up with a scheme I liked for this guy, then me and friend were talking about tv shows we used to watch,  and she said Gargoyles and it just sorta clicked. Kinda simple but I think it turned out ok.

Paintedfor a painting league in another forum:

      "Bring Out Your Dead!"
I envision this as a wandering band who collects the dead. Sometimes they need to make ther cargo dead first. Being death warmed over themselves, they do not know what else to do with their unlives.

The chibi smallworld minis are all based on existing normal minis in the Reaper lines. I recognized five of them from the minis I have from earlier Bones kickstarters, but not Arnise the female barbarian elf that I painted the other day.
The reason being that the original was included in the Bones 4 core set. An older metal mini being redone into Bones material it seems.

So I painted her in a similar scheme.

The metal version is called Arnise, Elven Sergeant from the Warlord line, and represents the Sergeant of Almirithil's frenzied half-elven berserkers in the Warlord lore.

Why hello there, you remind me of someone I once knew...

Plonking away a the Bones 4 core set, this is number 5:

I am not a number! I am a free man!

The metal version of this is called Ankoa, Barbarian Hero.

He has a really small head compared to most of the other minis. I expect he is not too bright. Probably not destined to bear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow.

There's a new playah in town! Come get some!

      AUGH! The Great Pumpkin Came!

This was my entry in a painting league at another  miniatures forum.

In reference to the longstanding Peanuts theme of Linus sitting alone in the Pumpkin Patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin to come bringing gifts, Santa Claus-style.

It's a pity for him that Halloween is all about the scary...and the Great Pumpkin probably is not a very nice being.

The miniatures are all by Reaper, the fences are from Mantic's Kings of War Vanguard terrain. I found the simplicity of the fences really helped to sell the story here. As one of the commenters in the LPL-post stated: "Less is more".

Lots more pics, but yah gotsa clicks!
