Bones II Mountain Troll (77333)

Recommended Posts

I actually find, in Bones where gluing, pinning and weight aren't an issue, that the big guys are absurdly easy to paint up, and quite fun.

ETA: very nice rust effects! Nice sweat-and-rust on the chainmail, nice age-and-rust on the iron. You've given it an excellent weighty look. I also like the rhino-hide look you've given him.

Please to be at least hinting at your technique/recipe for the iron??

Thanks for the comments!

I'm glad to hear that you find the big figures easy.

The rusty iron is pretty simple, and I find fun, to do.  I show an (almost) step-by-step for doing it here in my blog's Barrow Warden post: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/06/barrow-wardens-bones-ii-figures.html

That rust is really spot on, great job!

I'm going to critique with the forum mantra of "Brighter/higher highlights, deeper/darker shadows" for the rest of the figure though.

Yep rust is awesome seconding uber on the highlights and shadows, it's something I am guilty of too ;)
