Au-Gust of wind brings the new month's challenge

Recommended Posts

I'm not dead yet! Just...busy.

...I make myself cringe with these puns but that's not the point.

Please see page 1 here for rules and guidelines/questions. This is also the chatter thread here:  The first post as linked will contain the updated totals and grand total pending and the plan is to start getting the graphics sent to all who have completed the months so far soon Personal and grand total now live!

a reminder when submitting to please adhere to the forum show off guidelines. This is a much bigger challenge than I expected and it makes life easier for the mods

Also, please only create a single index post for your links. This means to modify your existing post when you get a new figure finished instead of posting a new one.

This month's challenge is: 4

Bonus Challenge is:

As written in the Illiad:
Sirius rises late in the dark, liquid sky
On summer nights, star of stars,
Orion's Dog they call it, brightest
Of all, but an evil portent, bringing heat
And fevers to suffering humanity.
Sirius/Orion's Dog is (roughly) where The Dog Days of Summer have come to be known (the history is more elaborate but that's too much to write here.) So: what exemplifies these hottest days of the year? Fire? Blistering desert winds? Needing to cool off? This should be a cool theme. (ba-dum-tsss)

The deadline Is planned for September 1, Midnight, RST. (Reaper Standard Time).

4 for the exchanges, something new to try
12 for the monsters, who in the dungeons moan
7 for the competition, to please the judges eye
19 for the table top, which will set the tone
9 for the players, doomed to see their characters die
One for the master painter on his ergonomic throne
In the well lit studio where no shadows lie
one tag to hue them all, one tag to bind them
one tag to bring them all and in the forum find them.
In the well lit studio where no shadows lie

How many more ?????

Not too bad IMHO, 8 out of 11 in my projected, and 2 of those are year end project completion dates...

Things are going to slow down in September, still grappling with all the newness in painting coming my way!

Frustrating at times, but exhilarating when something comes out right!

August kicked my butt not a single drop of paint on my Doom Reavers. First time this year I didn't meet the main goal. Total for August only 3.

This will firstly, serve as my placeholder, secondly, to announce that individual totals are updated as well as grand totals. Please let myself or FH know if something looks amiss in the chatter thread.

I backed their original Mythic Battles: Pantheon. Good miniatures.
IIRC, Mythic Battles: Pantheon core sets in the KS, and possibly some expansions in the PM. Expansion reprints were difficult because printer required a minimum number, and Monolith wasn't sure how many sets backers would want. Also, let me know how their fulfilment has been going. (Not to be confused with their former partner, Mythic games.)

Another KS by Titan Forge. I have to admit that I haven't played Bloodfields yet, but I like the minis.

I believe these are inspired by Terry Pratchet's Discworld Guards, although I'm biased towards Paul Kidby's art.

After the estate of one Fomo Barrowblight (who many moons ago, and with heavily laden bags, had said he was just off for a morning walk, never to return) was sold at auction, there came to light a strange scroll that appeared to be a map of the final resting place of a lost tribe of halflings.  These cousins lived down in the scorching Southlands, amidst endless dunes that had buried whole cities and civilisations.
The newly elected (and so still very enthusiastic) Halfling Town Council had organised an expedition to make contact with their fellow halflings, with the aim of swapping some stories and recipes, and who knows, perhaps even coming back with some interesting new cakes.
And, after many great perils and travails, the expedition found itself in a mysterious location known as 'The Valley of the Things'.  Here, recipes in strange hieroglyphs were marked on tomb walls,  guarded jealously by High Priests and long mummified pastry chefs.
The expedition takes time to assuage the fears of the High Priests that they are here to steal the sacred recipes and make formal diplomatic relations.  But Fomo Barrowblight and another mysterious figure seem intent on stealing the recipe to the sacred pie and have already gleaned some of the ingredients...
      To the Mummy's Tomb!
Introducing a series of  Eight Fantasy Miniatures in 28mm scale from a halfling expedition to the burial grounds of their cousins, in the desert southlands.
        Halfling Town Council Five
The latest elected Halfling Town Council, has been responsible for launching the expedition to the distant Southlands, as always, it is made up of eight different townsfolk from all walks of life.
I've already pledged for the whole set, why haven't you?
