Alright, finally got a lot of stuff off my painting desk and I am going to paint something that I want to paint instead of something for someone else.

This is the first KD mini that I have had a go at so this should be fun/interesting/learning experience.

Assembly was not too bad even though all the pieces and parts are tiny and delicate and resin.

I will say that the mold lines are tiny and a pain to get off since I was worried about snapping a piece or going too far into detail.  Took my time and still managed to miss one that ran down the entire right arm, ended up seeing it after priming, I think I got it all now.

Not sure which lighting is better here so take your pick.

Primed with duplicolor(?) white sandable auto primer, pretty good stuff from this first try, I may stick with it.

I laid down a thinned coat of tanned flesh.

Again with the lighting issue..

Then two more layers of thinned tanned flesh.

That is where she stands right now, tanned flesh triad will continue after this busy weekend.

C&C always welcome.

@Ub3r  --  Thanks I caught it after I had posted it.  I had just posted the helsvakt in the show off section so had those on my mind.

@Marsya  --  Could take a while as I am not a fast painter and life seems to be getting in the way a lot more lately.   :grr:

@K2h2m3  --  It is the first KD mini I picked up so she has a special place in my collection, which has grown a bit out of control recently...never enough though.  The base is a 40mm from my bag o bases with a piece of basing kit #1 from Scibor minis and some sand, nothing special but the piece fit perfectly under her heel so I went with it.

Heh, I figured as much after I saw that other thread, but I still had to bust your chops over it in good fun.  :B):

Anyhow, lets see some more WIP pics!  :bday:

@Ub3r  --  I would expect nothing less my good barbarian friend.  I wish I could put more paint on her but I doubt I will get the chance this weekend, there are real life plans getting in the way, like a LAN party!

Separating a bee from its honey is always a risky prospect, but especially when they are giant, man-eating Titan Bees.
However, when smeared with a concoction made with the pulped remains of it's larva, a person is temporarily rendered virtually invisible to the Bees. And so the Bug Thief started a thriving business stealing bee babies to make into potions, but how did she survive going into the hive in the first place? That's a mystery to be solved another day.

Had a lot of fun painting this one, her bee striped fur thingy didn't come out like I hoped (and she's stuck with rather wonky eyes) but I think she ended up looking fairly decent overall.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

This is a Patrick Keith sculpt  from the Warlord range and I have loved it since it came out years ago.  She would be a really cool player character, I don't know why we don't see her more often.  Great dynamic movement with this one.  Anyway, I threw some color on her, so maybe she'll end up on the table one day.

I painted her up as a fun project. Let me know what you think.

I am trying to improve my painting abilities.

The purple marking on her thigh was supposed to be a skull tattoo, it didn't really work as well as I had hoped.

While the title may sound like a part of a weird children's book series, it's actually a trio of Kingdom Death Pin-ups!

The Bug Thief, her right arm goes across her face so I've left it off for now.

The Swamp Girl. I have to paint her base, paint her and then sandwich the clear bit in between without making a mess.

The Dogpole Mother, the hard part will be painting the Dogpoles so that they actually look like something!

      Starting with the Bug Thief:-

Painted her face and boobs (Rosy Flesh > Flesh Wash > Rosy Flesh > Rosy Flesh/Light Flesh), added a touch of Scarlett Red to the final highlight for her lips and painted her eyes (The left one is a bit buggy, but I'm hoping it'll look better once I paint her hair).
