Watching your work unfold is endlessly entertaining. The wood is already fun.

*splorp* It's brown.
*dabdabdab* it's brown with green smudged on it.
*slap*

IT'S AN ALGAL BLOOM ON A SHIPWRECK

How?

HOWWWWW?????

(Edit: I think I can see that you're still building up the colour, but the illusion has already kicked in. Very enthusiastic to see it unfold further.)

Blu-Tack? I thought the going trend was to use rare earth magnets to connect pieces...

Great work Pingo!

I agree with GCB, use the magnets. You can find them Amazingly easy on Google. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Been using the things for years now for weapon swaps on 40K figures. Instead of having to buy multiples, 1 fig can do alot.

Agreed, I love watching Pingo's very painterly style unfold.  It's like magic.

There's a step in Pingo's process where the mini near-instantaneously goes from a collection of random splotches of color to a completed mini. This is called "Pingoing a Mini."

Either that, or she's just bad at keeping WIPs. :;):

Pingo, How are you liking those Golden Fluid Acrylics? I keep eyeing them in the art stores, but haven't pulled the trigger and bought them yet. Their coverage looks so-so to me.

The ones I'm using are the Matte Fluid Acrylics, which are a little harder to find. Golden's regular Fluid Acrylics have a glossier finish but otherwise work about the same.

I like 'em fine. Golden Fluid Acrylics are about halfway between Reaper paints and tube paints in texture, thicker than most minis painters may be accustomed to but still fluid. They don't seem to be quite as matte as minis paints. While most of the colors I have used have had a true matte finish, some are satiny, including most reds I've tried and the Carbon Black.

(You can see the gloss on some of the red areas of the kraken, above.)

They are single-pigment paints which generally don't separate and don't need shaking (possibly a little if they are left untouched for months).

They don't have any additives (except presumably a little matting agent), so people would need to add their own flow aid, drying retarder, etc., if desired. I find they thin pretty well with water, but some colors work better with a drop of medium added as well.

Transparent pigments are going to be transparent whatever the brand of paint. Their opaque pigments, such as Titanium White and Yellow Ochre, cover just fine for my purposes. The Golden labels have a stripe of real paint over printed black and white stripes so you can gauge their opacity for yourself.
