The demon was indeed 3d printed resin. It's been cleaned and covered in a thin layer of primer! Good luck on the paint! :D

I forgot to ask, what kind of printer was used? It's a really nice print!

( Just curious, I can't afford a resin printer at the moment)

Thank you! It's a really lovely print, I'm planning on starting a WIP thread on him next week!

Unfortunately, a combination of lack of funds/space and getting ridiculously allergic skin reactions to pretty much any vaguely toxic chemicals probably rule out a 3D printer for the time being. Maybe I can convince a friend to get one

If you use nitril gloves while handling any uncured resin and while pouring/cleaning you would not get in touch with the stuff.

Wear a mask when you remove the cap.

I have the Elegoo Mars and I find their own brand not to smelly either.

Also..there are already plant-based resins and water washable resins on the market, maybe those are something to look into?

Did you ever get around to this demon? :D

Revisiting this topic seeing the BoGW #10 for USA is started.

Should we do a EU version soonish aswell..? if it's the exact same box it might need a refreshment if we don't get many new people though :)

edit: after the lockdown stuff has silenced abit though!

I'm actually painting the demon right now as my "freebie" (ie non Reaper) entry in this month Reaper Challenge League! Do you happen to remember what he is called and what company that he's from?

I'm more than happy to send the box onwards, but it looks lockdown and the current adjusting to Brexit needs to calm down first. A lot of people are getting charges for things that they shouldn't be

I was out of the loop last time, so I'd be new if I get back into it.

The problem is, that's Boris Johnson's bad nearly-no-deal at work. When crossing the UK-EU border, even declaring it as a private used goods gift, a shipment would have to have a declared value below GBP 39/EUR 45 to be exempt from import VAT, and there's no indication that will change any time soon.

The issue with the box is that customs might be disinclined to believe such a low valuation (which would cause no end of trouble). I for one can't think of a workaround that wouldn't require someone in Northern Ireland. :(

Ye the whole UK scenario is kind of bullocks right now. With the kickstarter aswell, but that's managable. but on this box, woof.

Is the last box in the UK at this moment?

It is with @Kuroneko if I'm correct.

Yup, it's still safely ensconced in my cupboard of shame. I'd be happy to send it on, but the chance of the recipient receiving a nasty surprise in the shape of a customs charge is probably too high at the moment. I'm perfectly content to maintain stewardship for a little while longer as it's not taking up too much space and I'm adding to it every time I get a new kickstarter in 🙂

Hopefully the situation will sort itself out eventually, although I cant be held accountable on how many painted/textured bases will end up in it by then!

Do you guys want to start a Euro only one in the meantime? It might, unfortunately, be the only sensible option at this point.

FWIW, a friend tells me that in theory, the low valuation should be accepted if it's declared as "scrap metal". Of course, he's not a legal expert and it'd fall apart if customs open the box and half the "scrap metal" is wood, plastics and possibly still-blistered miniatures.

A different friend raised a better point: surely there's no even halfway decent documentation on what the value of the contents of the box might actually be, because they're basically all "one man's trash...", which in turn is indicative of a low value. Shouldn't customs be able to tell us how to prove that for customs purposes?

Specifically, @Kuroneko, shouldn't UK customs be able to tell you how to correctly declare a weird shipment like that so it should clear EU customs fine?
