SCUG
I'd like to suggest, for the next or a future version of the FM, that we be able to sort columns by their header (e.g on the Units tab, be able to sort Available Units by Name, Type, Task, etc). Not a massive change, but I think it would be most useful. Edit 1 Also, I just noticed that no models load for the "Other" faction in 0930. Can we get it so all models load for this faction; it makes mercenary forces possible to create! Edit 2 (I just noticed we can select multiple factions via checkbox, that sort of works!) Edit 3 As I play around, I notice more... Anyway, can we get the option to rename squads, and ideally indivual models as well? -Dave Sorting columns may seem like an easy addition, but there is a lot of coding required to get such functionality. I'll add it to the list and see if it would be worth the time and effort. Currently there are no official models that have a Faction of 'Other'. This option was added for users who wanted to make pirate forces, or the like. As far as I know, there is no plan to make specific models for such non-specific groups. In the CAV universe, they use other peoples CAV's. !) So, unless you make some, there will be none to load. Squads can be renamed. Select the squad and click the Rename button. If you change your mind, change the name and leave the field blank, and it will reinstate the default name. We didn't add the renaming of models as is seriously complicated the logic of buying and selling of units. Possible space restraints also made this an ugly proposition on the data cards. Thank you for the feedback. We'd like more of that! Chris
SCUG
SHARING FORCES! Be aware, if you share a force with another user, if there are any user made models in your force, FM will not load those files unless you share them as well, and their in the Models/User folder.
SCUG
Got my copy of the rulebook today and finally spun up the FM and CP to see what things look like. Awesome tools!! The combination of these stands to make CAV:SO one of the most flexible and creative minis games on the market. Congrats on great work! I'm probably overlooking something, but is there a way to custom edit the unit selection list in FM to only include the models I own? Also, is there a designated outlet for folks sharing output from the CP? I don't think I'm adept enough at the program or the rules to do it myself yet, but I would love to see data sets for the older models that didn't make it to official SO. There is a way you can do this, after all. (Having FM only show models you own) All you need to do is make another folder and unzip the program into this alternate location. Then go in to the Official folder and delete any model you don't have. !)
ThatDeadGuy
I found an error in the construction program, and though I should report it. I am running v1614 on a Windows based machine. When selecting the Negative SA Reduced Turn, the program is not properly refunding 50 TVP as stated on PG 123 of the Rule Book. In the case of the revamped Naginata ("scratch" built - no importing of data) I am playing around with it is only refunding 20 or 21 points (depending on what combination of skills I have applied to it). Reaper User CAVBOSS Posted August 28, 2015 Author Reaper User Share Posted August 28, 2015 Its probably doing the math backwards but it should come out right. The overall damage track of a model determines the percentage of the actual points something costs. So to get a full refund of 50 points you would need to use a 12 DT model. If your model is a 4 or 5 DT model, then 20-21 points sounds right.
dispatchdave
I'm trying to build an infantry cohort, but I can't make a Mortar squad in the FM. When I try to add infantry units to the secondary mortar squad, I am allowed to add one model, then I get the error "Only 1 non-Bulky non-Fire Support model allowed per Mortar squad." Is it possible to get an Infantry Fire Support model, instead of Attack models, so we can build a Mortar squad? I've made a Light and Heavy version in the CP,but an official model would be appreciated. -Dave Edited August 30, 2015 by dispatchdave
Reaper User CAVBOSS Posted August 30, 2015 Author Reaper User Share Posted August 30, 2015 Dave, Ive stayed away from making a bunch of infantry cards as there are so many possible combinations depending on your play style. With that being said, I know we have discussed doing a set for tournament play that are more generic (like the infantry cards I have already put up). I will see if I can get a few knocked up. We are getting ready to release an updated version of the CP and the FM and I will get them in there.
dispatchdave
The ones I mocked up just changed the task to Fire Support, and are equipped with mortars and assault rifles. I'm trying to stat up my legion, yes the whole thing.... ;) So far, I have three infantry cohorts, costing 9,258 points (3,086 TVP per cohort). Each cohort has two Pilii of Powered (5 models per), two Pilii of Heavy (10 each), three Pilii of Light (10 each), two Pilii of Light Mortars (6 models per), and one Pilus of Heavy Mortar (6 models each). Excessive? Perhaps, but I want to eventually model the entire legion. -Dave

Maredudd
Ok, got CAVCP installed with only a small hiccup, but worked that out. The application window doesn't sem to be resizable. At least I can't change it on the netbook. The window extends below the bottom of my screen and is only 2/3 the width. I was able to look at all the Official models and it looked like I was going to becable to build custom models as well. CAVFM looked like it installed ok but there seems to be no moddels available to add to my force. I remember seeing this issue mentioned earlier so I'll go track that down and see if my problem is the same, i.e.the fix is the same . . . Maredudd
Alright. Not sure what was going on but CAVFM works as well. The first thing I did in CAVCP was to build a Tarantula . . . (I picked up some REALLY NICE Spider Mechs from Comfy Chair Games that tend to run a little bigger than the Scorpion and though I could simply proxy them for the Spider or Recluse, I decided to build something a little bigger.)

Are you still going try and figure out the Wine thing?
