DocPiske
Just finished Locke and Key and really enjoyed it. There are phenomenally stupid decisions by some characters, though.

TGP
I have tried to watch them all when they were broadcast... ...I also recommend Inspector Lewis. Do you know the whole backstory? 2
aku-chan
Been enjoying a series called Strike Back. It's sort of a grittier take on a James Bond-style show (which is weird as I don't particularly like the grittier Daniel Craig era Bond movies). The prude in me wishes they would tone down the sex scenes though. Unfortunately, like all the series I'm watching through my DVD rental place, I have no idea when they'll send me more.

I started it a long time ago and got side-tracked by something. Quote Unfortunately, like all the series I'm watching through my DVD rental place, I have no idea when they'll send me more. If you have Amazon Prime Video, almost all of Cinemax's older series are free there. I've been watching random parts of Banshee. 13 hours ago, DocPiske said: Just finished Locke and Key and really enjoyed it. There are phenomenally stupid decisions by some characters, though. I watched the first episode and was really surprised. It was more serious than I expected. I have no clue about the source material, so when I saw that it was about a trio of siblings and saw that one of them was fairly young I figured it was more of a kids series. Now my concern is if it'll keep that up b/c the lone review I've seen about it says that in the middle it turns into more of a tween drama than adventure series. The same can be said of October Faction of Netflix. It looked like it would have a good amount of action but it was pretty lame. The majority of the series was teen drama and despite it being about monster hunters there were very few monsters in it. And it had the most implausible ending I've seen in quite a long time... I still haven't made the leap into watching stuff streamed, unfortunately I think I put it off too long and missed the golden age of streaming where you were fine subscribing to just one place.
Jellyranger69
The Resident is a pretty cool show. Medical Police is a hoot.
Chrome
I finished Locke & Key this week and really enjoyed it! The family watched the first two episodes of Zooey's Extraordinary Playlist last night and dug it. Our son comes over every Sun night for dinner and we catch up on our family shows. This one will be added to the list.
Jellyranger69
Not really a TV show per se’, but ‘Tim’s Kitchen Tips’ on YT is worth a look.

Ive watched about half way through Locke & Key so far and I find it a fun watch although I agree that the authors were lazy and took the teenage angst drives stupid decision to move the plot forward route rather than actually being innovative or having more complex characters. I am still enjoying the shown though.
Citrine
We recently finished 2 disease related shows: Pandemic on Netflix, a documentary about the flu mostly focused on preparedness and making a vaccine. We didn't think it was that great, very meandering and chopped up. But somewhat relevant to what's going on with the Coronavirus right now. The Hot Zone, the true story about the 1989 Ebola outbreak in the US, based on the book by the same name. We both liked the series. And I am re-reading the book now after seeing the series, and the book is much much more graphic than the series was in describing what Ebola does to the body. The book is not for the squeamish. After each episode of The Hot Zone, we would watch one or two episodes of Numbers to cleanse our brains. We are working out way thru that entire series, so far I am loving it, and learning lots of math while watching entertaining crime solving.
Zink
Watched a lot of things lately but at the moment it's Record of Grancrest War. Read that it was by the person who wrote Record of Loss War. That was one of my introductions to Anime and I still like it. Grancrest not so much. It's something to watch but the writing and story isn't that great. But on the plus side the main character isn't a whiny little kid you want to strangle until he levels up. Basic plot is that lords have magic crests that grant them power and status. As you defeat other lords or demons that randomly pop up you gain crests/power which can be kept or given to vassals. The world is divided into 2 major factions which have been peaceful for awhile. Young kid wants to help his homeland so starts a journey to gain power and triggers a major increase in hostilities.
Marvin
^I made it one episode. Didn't have the D&D feel of Lodoss War at all unfortunately.
