Dan Goodchild
We recently finished binge watching NCIS. Now we've moved on to Stargate: SG-1 and are part-way through season 4. On Tuesdays we watch the new episode of Rizzoli & Isles. I've been (really) sick all week and have been in bed for most of the last four days and while I was down my wife was binge watching the Harry Potter movies. Looking forward to new TV in the Fall with new episodes of Doctor Who, NCIS and Walking Dead.

wargamer
there isn't much new on tv that I watch. I plan to watch agents of shield, arrow, flash, and big bang theory in the near future.
Pingo
there isn't much new on tv that I watch. I plan to watch agents of shield, arrow, flash, and big bang theory in the near future. The first season of "Flash" was outstanding (serious structural flaws with treatment of women characters, but aside from that first rate). The first season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." looked pleasantly average until about the two-thirds point, at which point it was upended and everything which had happened suddenly took on new (and often sinister) meaning, and everything from that point to the season's end was a nonstop breathless rollercoaster of yikes. The second season was solidly good too, although it couldn't match the jaw-dropping quality of the first. "Big Bang Theory" is minstrel show geekery written and acted by non-geeks to entertain a mainstream audience with what it thinks of as geek stereotypes,
Marvin
My only beef with The Big Bang Theory is that the jokes aren't funny. Like, ever. Which is especially unfortunate for a comedy. My wife watches it; drives me crazy. If anyone hasn't seen the YouTube clip(s) of BBT without its laugh track, might want to check it out. Rather revealing.
wargamer
some of the jokes in BBT aren't that great, but I can laugh at myself as much as at some of the things I've seen others do. I have seen the past seasons but not the current one. not every show is for everyone. I didn't care for seinfeld nor friends, which were two of the biggest shows on tv in the 90's. I've seen season one of agents of shield and the craziness that occurred in season 1 tied it into the winter soldier movie. no clue if a similar tiein to age of ultron for season 2.
Marvin
Didn't mean to seem overly harsh on BBT or the people who watch it; like I said, married a woman who loves it, and I watch it with her. I finally finished her set of stress dolls for all the main characters, not too long ago. Been getting them as occasional gifts for a while. She's a shrine of them over the desk. Though to my knowledge the other girlfriends aren't represented . . . marketing opportunity for them there still . . . .

Smaller tie-in during season 2 for Avengers, some build up to the Civil War movie. Nothing that makes a difference to the enjoyment of either.
Baugi
I just... The first season made an effort to address some geek culture stuff, which was great. Ever since, it's been just another sitcom about relationships, that doesn't trust its audience or writers enough to know when something is funny. I loathe laugh tracks. Legitimately clever comedies don't need them (Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Modern Family, The Office, Community, Scrubs... The list goes on.)
Cranky Dog
Currently, I'm not really following any show. Haven't for years. Between moving into the Newfoundland timezone where every show is an hour and a half later than the east coast, the summer TV schedule, my regular work schedule where I'm away for a whole week with 12 hour days that makes me miss one of every two episodes, having cut the cord for several years, etc. I slowly drifted away from TV as a whole. And after seeing to many duds, or learning that a show that's been on for several years is actually quite good, I missed out on many good shows that any respectable geek should know. Maybe I set my standards too high, or I just can't find the time to binge watch, but I don't really care about TV as much as before. For example, I never watched a single episode of the Stargate franchise, nor the new Battlestar Galactica, nor Buffy the Vampire Slayer, maybe one episode of Big Bang Theory (took me years to realize people were talking about a comedy), nor Breaking Bad, nor... well you get the picture. And after all that falling out of love with mainstream TV, I can still understand why people love it. There's still plenty of entertainment value in it and I'm still a sucker for science documentaries. One thing I never saw coming, is that I'm now a fan of opera on PBS (and the movie theater when available). Not so much for the singing, but for the stories. I'm getting old amazing.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted August 16, 2015 Moderator Share Posted August 16, 2015 Currently watching? Very recently I've gained access to some stations that I didn't have, so I've been watching Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story: Freakshow. I tried watching Killjoys but didn't enjoy it so stopped. I am liking Dark Matter so far. And of course the new season of Face Off has recently started. Also enjoying Big Brother, The Amazing Race Canada, @Midnight. Band in Seattle is a favourite of mine too. Looking forward to the return of Orphan Black along with other favourites like NCIS, BBT, Modern Family, Motive, Flash, Gotham, Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, and hopefully some new Mystery shows on PBS. Plus a new season of Hockey. Yay!
Brother Jim
You're getting a new season of Motive? ABC stopped showing that after the 2nd season (STUPID ABC). How many seasons have you gotten? And I wonder how I can legally watch seasons 3+ here in the States? Thanks.
