Mad Jack
So instead have fired into Miami Vice. I've seen some, but never really watched it. From the very opening of the first episode, it's easy to see why it captivated folks so, back when--it was so far ahead of its time. Think I'm going to enjoy this muchly. Plus, love Don Johnson. Miami Vice was good television for all of it's over-the-top-ness - one of those rare shows that manages to give both explosion-of-the-week and some actual character development. It is, however, necessary to have lived through the '80's as at least a teenager or older in order to truly appreciate it. I haven't had cable tv for nearly nine months (I keep the tv's unplugged to save juice unless I'm watching a dvd), and rarely watched any series in the past few years even when I had it. Even the shows I liked, like NCIS, NCIS:LA, and CSI I eventually fell away from watching due to real life interrupting my tv time, and mostly caught up on in afternoon reruns on TNT or USA... Someday when I get the extra cash I'm gonna grab all the seasons of them on dvd and get caught up again. Marvin
Biggest problem with our Hulu lifestyle is the lack of CBS. And Knight Rider. Just learned there's apparently no Knight Rider. Meanwhile, why in the everloving stuff did they cancel Firefly. Punching a dude in the face with the hilt of a broken-off sword and and and and, you know, cows, come on.

Talae
I really need to finish season 5 of Leverage sometime soon.I want that show back. I loved it enough that I bought the RPG...Even if we may never play it. My wife was basically playing Parker as a D&D character at the time we were watching it. She was insanely entertaining. Heavy on the insane with a dash of cute thrown in.
etherial
Speaking of (nu) Battlestar, wife and I are watching Firefly for the first time in a while. I'm now totally convinced that the latter laid the groundwork for the former in terms of space shots and such. Way the camera cuts in and out and all . . . . My brother, the consummate fan of both shows, very politely told me I'm crazy. ETA: Now he says he sees the similarities, at least, but isn't sure he's ready to buy the theory in toto. You can actually see a Firefly during the BSG miniseries in the shots on Caprica before the Cylon attack. Zoic did the CGI for both. Moderator Guindyloo Posted August 30, 2015 Moderator Share Posted August 30, 2015 I need to watch the latest season of True Detective and catch up on Sons of Anarchy. There's always more to watch than I have the hours for.

I don't know where you live, but if you're in the States have you checked the CBS site to see if the videos are available? I just went there and it doesn't look like everything requires an All Access Pass. I think stuff older than a few weeks does though. EDIT: And Dark Matter and Killjoys on on SyFy have been renewed for season 2. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/01/dark-matter-killjoys-renewed-syfy-season-2 Edited September 1, 2015 by Brother Jim

Qwyksilver
I thought Sunday's episode of FtWD was better as we're starting to see the decline and characters are beginning to make those kill or be killed choices. I would love to see at least one of the survivors show up somehow in tWD, making one of those cross country treks much like Abraham et al did. It would be a cool backstory for one of the survivors. Even if it was one of those season's BBEG, a Wolf.
Moderator Guindyloo Posted September 2, 2015 Moderator Share Posted September 2, 2015 I'm so happy that Dark Matters got renewed....my bff and I finished the first season over the weekend and she'd exclaimed "What kind of sadist ends the season like that when they don't know if they've been renewed or not???"
Marvin
Watching the first episode of Elementary on Hulu. Pretty good! Little obvious but enjoyable. Think this one could stick. Keeps making me think of a show in the 90s where they unfroze the actual Sherlock Holmes and he started solving crimes again or something. It may've been a TV movie, or it only last a short time, or something, I barely remember, but I was all-in on that show back when, heh. Pingo
Word is that John Constantine will have a cameo on "Arrow." I guess the darkness suits, and it will be great to see the Constantine character again. I'm still annoyed that they cancelled "Constantine," even though I felt the show had some troubling issues.
