Mad Jack
So instead have fired into Miami Vice. I've seen some, but never really watched it. From the very opening of the first episode, it's easy to see why it captivated folks so, back when--it was so far ahead of its time. Think I'm going to enjoy this muchly. Plus, love Don Johnson. Miami Vice was good television for all of it's over-the-top-ness - one of those rare shows that manages to give both explosion-of-the-week and some actual character development. It is, however, necessary to have lived through the '80's as at least a teenager or older in order to truly appreciate it. I haven't had cable tv for nearly nine months (I keep the tv's unplugged to save juice unless I'm watching a dvd), and rarely watched any series in the past few years even when I had it. Even the shows I liked, like NCIS, NCIS:LA, and CSI I eventually fell away from watching due to real life interrupting my tv time, and mostly caught up on in afternoon reruns on TNT or USA... Someday when I get the extra cash I'm gonna grab all the seasons of them on dvd and get caught up again.
