14085: Freja Fangbreaker (WIP - Modification)

Recommended Posts

Looking good so far!

Best be careful heading down the conversion path, though. Soon, you'll be using bits from 12 different figures to make one. :poke:

I've never done that, BTW. :ik_oops:

Cool man! I look forward to seeing this! Are you planning on adding more plastic card on top of the shield?

Oh I don't do that kind of stuff, I like doing small conversions/modifications though. I'm much more into building dioramas, that's the rabbit hole I fell deep down into.  ::P:

Yes, I plan on using more plasticard to raise up the areas on the shield to look like the inspiration picture. That'll have to be done tonight and then I'm off to priming the whole thing. I'm trying to decide if I need to keep the arm off to paint her or not.  ::D:

BTW - she's going to be tabletop to tabletop + for me, I'm trying not to spend too much time painting her, would like to get her done in time for our game this upcoming Saturday (the 22nd).

Got a chance to work on her some more today, here are some WIP shots after tinkering with her shield (added plasticard to make the designs), attach the arm, and then prime her up. I was going to try to get her done before yesterday, but I just couldn't get the time to do it, so she'll be done well before we game again in a couple weeks.

Anyhow, WIP pics!

The concept art showed the female cleric as left-handed. Is the right-handed mini going to be problem for your player? It never hurts to ask.

No problem whatsoever. We don't usually worry about left/right handed in our games as long as the mini is close and this was as close I could get it.

That shield looks GREAT! Well Done! I need 5 copies on my desk by next week. LOL

Thanks!

HAHA! I work too slow for that deadline.  ::P:

      Hi Guys,

another old classic from Julie Guthrie, part of a set she put out for Ral Partha in the eighties, Female Adventurers, which I imagine was their answer to the Grenadier boxed set that was also full of delightful adventuring ladies.

This figure is a little nostalgic, because she's actually lead, back from the eighties, not version cast later in Rallidium.

And as always, wasn't sure on a color for her clothing. I had the hair and skin pretty much figured out, but once I got to that point, it took a day or two to actually commit.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy, a great figure from the early sculpting days of Julie Guthrie!

This is a Dwarf Lord Ragmir by Scibor monstrous miniatures, I got this for my nephew awhile back and just finished it. This thing had a lot of good details, and a cool base even if it was a little small, which is no longer an issue since I just mounted him on his stock base and then a metal knockout from an electrical box.

      Thanks for looking!

This lil guy had been sitting on my shelf for a while. Decided to tint some metallic w blue paint for his armor. Pretty happy how it turned out. As always, feedback is welcome

So, I just had to show off this pic.  I'm playing in a 5e Rappan Athuk campaign, and needed to make 3 characters.  I chose to model mine after the characters from the old Lost Vikings video game.

In order from left to right:
Olaf the Stout, Life Domain Cleric.
Baelog the Fierce, Totem Warrior Barbarian.
Erik the Swift, Battlenaster Fighter (my main).

Sorry, I just really loved this picture.
