Meady
OK, umm, I'm making a battlefield for warlord, so I dont have to play with a saltshaker being a mountain, so what exactly is the regulation size for a playing field? --Meady
7thunders
it's either 3x3 or 4x4. either one will work. I have a 4x4 board that has built in terrain.it's almost finished.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted March 3, 2004 Moderator Share Posted March 3, 2004 Or whatever size you want. I wouldn't go 3x3 unless I was playing with 500 points or less.
Meady
Ummm, ok you say 4x4, so I assume you mean four feet by four feet?????
Steven Page
Four feet by four feet works fine for up to 1500 points per side. We've run our 3000 per side games on a six by four table. If you make your scenery boards in 2x4 foot sections, you can make three, and use only two for smaller games.
pae
Ummm, ok you say 4x4, so I assume you mean four feet by four feet????? Yeah...leave it to the crazy americans to go with non-metric units!
Meady
Ok, well I gots 2 measure up a 4x4 sheet of sometype of wood to put this on, whats the best kind of wood for the job?
Mengu
The effects of the long range attacks and fast cavalry troops are better observed on a 4x6 table, but 4x4 table works fine for the most part. Having multiple strips of 2x4, or blocks of 2x2 is a good idea.
7thunders
here let's solve this right now. step 1. go to lowes home improvement. step2. buy a 4 foot wide by 8 foot long sheet of 1 inch or more thickness of particle board.it's about 20.00 step 3 take said board and go buy 2 8 foot long strips of pine fering board. they re just long strips of wood like a big 2x4. step 4 fasten said strips onto the bottom of board using screws. step 5: flip board over and put it on table or sawhorses or whatever you want. step 6; seal off the top surface with kilz primer. step8. sponge paint over that using sulpherous green and a light tan color. step 9. mark of the board in 2x2 foot quadrants. step 10 design the board and pencil in what you want. step 11. work on one quadrant at a time, setting your hill, vegetation, cutting water templates, and then sand the whole thing in using regular sand box sand and glue. spray over coat of brown and green.and go to the next quadrant. step 12 e-mail me when you get confused

Whob
I play on a pool table. We have plenty of room to move around and play. I think you should find a big enough board or table that suits you and your friends.
Lord Baasen
Gaming boards for the High Schooler! Go to the drafting teacher at your high school. Ask if there are any worn/damaged drawing boards you can have. Since they're usually 3'x2', get at least 4 of them. Lay them out on a table or floor and enjoy. The bonus point is they're easy to transport and if you play a bigger army, just add more boards.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted March 4, 2004 Moderator Share Posted March 4, 2004 In the future when I have a basement I'm going to get a ping-pong table. That way I've got a 4x8 to play on, and my wife and I can play ping-pong too.
warlordgarou
step 0: ask parental unit for a ride.... Or walk to said store Hey, more power to anyone who wants to carry a 4'x8' sheet of particle board. It may not be heavy, but it is awkward.
