I did go with Santuary, Imperial and Victoronia. I thought about subsituting Imperial for Plaguelands because KangerooRex has that one in the area... but those were the three I thought had the most different features, and I would find the most use for. I am a big fan of the way the sludge looks on the back of plaguelands (But maybe that's just because I haven't seen it painted right.) so I would have been getting that one only for one side, and some of the features I would think would be limited use.

 

But boy did that production master for Imperial tempt me. Then I could have gotten 4 pads! And I could have casted Imperial pieces in plaster, but $300 is out of my price range.

That was a painfully hard choice. I went with victoriana, because I think it has an incredible range of options; forest, because I don't have any great way to represent logs and leaves and they're ubiquitous; and dungeon, because I love the stairs and rapids and scattered chains and things, and I am sure i can make some cool props out of the gold piles and things.

 

But that meant I had to leave behind imperial, which looks really versatile and generic while still being good; homestead, which is just awesome but overlaps a lot with dungeon; plaguelands, which has so much character but the sludge didn't really do it for me; and steampunk, mountain.... argh

 

It'll be a long while before I can afford to have all the things I want for my mini art.

I need to find a time to cut my hobby budget down. It has ramped up this year and really didn't need to. Bombshell Babes and Cthulhu Wars Onslaught need to be the end for me for a while. Hopefully I can hold to that...at least moderately.

I have three pads from their Basius 2 KS ... I was thinking about getting another 2 or 3 (Forest, Dungeon and Imperial would have been my additions to the ones I already have: Victoriania, Plaguelands and Sanctuary) ... but it was financially simply not possible.

So bring on Basius 3 ... let's see what you have ;)

Nice choices. I look forward to seeing the version 2 of the santuary and what you can do with it. I am not particularly a fan of plaugelands. It has some good stuff on it but the goo is pretty much still surface. Would have been better with less open space and more transition area.

I will probably painting and basing minis for years to come ... so I will get to use the Basius pads for years. Even if I don't use them enough to justify the expense THIS year ... there is a next year ... and a next one.

I got Imperial, Sanctuary and Homestead. Already doing a fair amount of milliput-ing on my bases and hoping this makes things a little easier and my bases a little nicer.
