Not a bad picture... But you should use....any image software to rotate that 90 degrees to the right.  ;)

 

As for the picture taking itself, try to get the light source to hit the front of the figure.  Kind of looks like you're already using a light box, so just add a lamp or two, and it'll remove most of the shadows.

Most of the time that the image rotation happens is actually due to the images being uploaded directly from an iPhone (it's actually the fault of the forum program). I'm thinking that is the case here.

 

I agree with everything else. Instead of an overhead lamp, try moving it to the front of the mini.

Got a computer or tablet?  Send the pics to that and open them there.  Or open them on your phone and rotate them--do whatever the smartphone equivalent of right-clicking is, and the option should appear.

 

Iphones should have a Photos app.  Open it, find the pic, tap Edit, then Crop.
