Popular Post Chris Palmer
This week I completed Feiya, Iconic Witch from the Bones I Kickstarter Iconics and Officially Licensed Pathfinder Miniatures set. I did this figure because my playtest of the Frostgrave rules last week made we want a properly winter based figure to act as Apprentice to my Illusionist wizard. I had pressed Cassie the Gnome Wizard in to duty as the Apprentice, but was not happy with her green grass base. Meanwhile, I felt Feiya looked suitable wrapped up for cold weather adventuring. So many of the remaining wizard figures I have yet to paint just don't look dressed for a winter trek. I'm really pleased with how she came out. The Frostgrave rules say that Illusionists dress in bright, multi-colored outfits, and I wanted to bring that across in this Apprentice. My thinking was that she is young and still enjoys playing with colors and different appearances. The figure I'm using as my older Wizard, (see: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/01/anirion-wood-elf-wizard-figure-132-of.html ) is more jaded and knows the wisdom of sometimes using camouflage and blending in. For the full write-up on my painting of Feiya, please see my Bones blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2015/09/feiya-iconic-witch-figure-169-of-265.html Edited September 7, 2015 by Chris Palmer
Pingo
Would it be possible to see some close up shots? This looks very nice, and I would like to see more.
Marvin
Nicely done! She looks great in red.
Chris Palmer
Thanks for the positive remarks! Here is the close up as requested. I'm afraid my brushwork doesn't hold up to close inspection. I usually paint for arm's-length viewing.
BLZeebub
So much tiny detail! The red/magenta-yellow-turquoise scheme really stands out.

Pingo
It's helpful to see how you delicately handled all those little dots of highlights. Really, given the scale, she looks great. It's also interesting to see how the particulars of how her face is painted turn into something quite translucent and almost glowing at tabletop distance. Darcstaar
I love it. Not sure why, but it makes me think of Cher!
Pingo
I love it. Not sure why, but it makes me think of Cher! I can see that. I think it is some combo of the cheekbones, the smile, and the elaborate headdress.

Wow, thanks! I have to admit I wasn't going for "glowing translucence" but sometimes the paint and wash just come together for happy miracles. :) I love it. Not sure why, but it makes me think of Cher! Haha! Now I'm never going to be able to un-see that when I look at this figure. Will have to think what the Elf form of "Cher" is to name her. I guess when ever she "zots" someone with a spell she'll have to sing "I got you, babe!" :)

Marineal
I love this mini. You did a great job on her! I like the idea of the winter coat. It's a great effect. :)
