No pics, but yesterday I base coated a couple stormtroopers for a quick tabletop job. I plan on running through the Imperial Assault minis I showed primed previously as well as my zombicide Gordon Ramsay.

Then maybe something artsy again :)

Oh, also had my cast off today, so getting around is a little easier. Balanced by a bit more pain and caution, as I have 6 1/2" pins sticking out of my toe at various angles. We've dubbed it Frankentoe.

I used it waaay back on my Sedition Wars mini and kind of forgot about it. It's a nicely versatile paint and I think I'll revisit it as a central theme soon. Something that plays nice with blacks and whites has interesting possibilities.

And credit again to Scott Hockley for the basic ideas on that cloth recipe :)

O.o

Good heavens, you messed it up right proper, didn't you? Your poor toe! I hope it heals up quickly; it's terrible not having the full use of both feet. :( It's good that you were able to get the cast off, though! :)

Huzzah!

I broke my thumb ... I started learning to play the guitar as part of my rehab months later.  Very slow process as to not re-injure.  Still can't play the guitar, but my hand is better.  If you learn to play the guitar with your feet, I'm sure you could win some silly contest or create a new music style.

Seriously though, slow and long rehab exercise is best for torn and broken stuff.  Bones heal quick, but all the tendons and ligaments take years.  I imagine it's easy to ignore big toe exercise.  Try moving it around to spell the alphabet.  Best of luck.

Nice palette cleanser after all that skin tone work, some Stormtroopers. Painted super quick (for me) roughly following a tutorial for painting Sedition Wars Vanguards by Ali McVey. I mixed all the colors (such as they are) from black, white and sapphire blue. Minis are not the best casts, so I didn't bother cleaning them up or putting much effort into being neat!

First I base coated the primed minis with a desaturated blue/grey (middle mini not base coated).

Then I washed with a light black wash (middle mini not washed).

Everyone gets the blacks filled in.

Re-establish the base coat (middle mini not re-coated).

Then I forgot to take pics :) I mixed more white into the blue/grey base coat for an initial 'white'. Then I finished it off with just a bit of the blue grey in my white pool.

Just a few touch ups and I'll paint the bases and call them done. Quick and dirty!

Gah, was just approached by an old buddy to paint his Cave Evil and KD:M stuff. On the one hand, you folks know how slow I paint. On the other, I could use the money to buy an airbrush and compressor and use them to do a lot of the work, learning on his stuff (he just wants tabletop)...
