These are two pictures I took for reference from a preserve (I forget the name of sorry!) here in GA - and yes, those lumps in the water are alligators. The green on the top of the water is algae growing and it's quite quite bright green which I thought was just plain awesome (hence the pictures)

...the last one I find especially inspiring...of course, I am a bit strange.

That last one looks like an abandoned amusement park to me.
