Delayed CMON - The Others 7 sins

I'll take a look at all the minis when it's live ... not that interested in the game, but if the minis are nice (same went for Blood Rage and what I've seen of the minis - they're fantastic).

Only problem: I'm not interested in modern day minis ... so everybody with a gun is out. But the monsters look like they MIGHT (!) make up for it ...

The KS may well end up with very many great monsters.

I could always sell the minis (incl exclusives) on eBay and keep the monsters!

 

They really are superb and could make for some real nightmarish dungeon levels!!!!

 

In other words: I'm definitely in!!

When it comes to CMONs boardgames, the price is usually fixed at a point far less than buying the minis on their own would be, especially after all the strech goals kick in, The boardgame itself and all that can be seen as dressing for the minis. I am quite sure that most of the buyers of this game will never play it. Same goes for Blood Rage.

I some cases it is true (like this one, I'm usually not a fan of modern day themes) and in others it isn't.

 

Some people aren't interested in games at all and only buy for the (usually very nicely priced) miniatures. Personally I usually want to give it a try if I like the theme.

I read Blood Rage had rather good reviews; in that case I may both play the game but also use the minis for other purposes.

 

But yes it is true: I hardly buy games without appealing minis.

Just in case the gameplay isn't that much fun, or if the people I play with don't like it I haven't spend the money for nothing, which would be a bit sad.

My guess is €90 entry level

2 Sins unlocked as stretch goals

and the other 3 Sins as $50 add-ons.

Maybe some special expansion box, also at $50?

Guest artist heroes: $20 per 3 minis.

 

Plus shipping, of course.

Squeeze 'em dry, Zombicide style.

 

Or would they make this like Blood Rage and B-Sieged, with minimal extra add-ons?

My guess is it will be like BloodRage... Base box at $100... Stretch goals for plastic components... and all the sins... and one expansion at $50 for additional heroes... Plus an artbook.

So, McVey and CMON. How/why do those two parties actually trust each other again? Hw/why is it reasonable to assume they'll actually care about backers, this time?

 

I know Guillotine Games is also involved, but saying that alone guarantees McVey/CMON won't turn toxic again would be putting 'they're the second coming' level faith in Guillotine.

This is a bit different. McVey is just doing the art/sculpts for this one, and most of them are already done.

So, can we trust Guillotine to send McVey back to the sculpting table if he decides the last couple of sculpts really are okay looking like they're a different scale? We know CMON won't.

CMoN has learned a lot of lessons since Sedition Wars. They have had a large number of successful KS's since then. I'm not really worried.

It's basically the same team set as Blood Rage which announced itself as 'From Guillotine Games, Studio McVey, designer Eric M. Lang and artist Adrian Smith comes the final epic Viking Saga BLOOD RAGE.'

 

I think the big question with this one is going to be gameplay rather than minis which we can see as final plastics in most cases (there's been a fairly significant delay in the launch compared to when info on it first came out which could be extra playtesting, or could be difficulty in getting the game to work right)
