I wanted to do more work on other figures tonight, but I am waiting for some paint to arrive....

I looked at my 20 primed figures, trying to think which ones I had paint to work on, and he kind of bellowed at me to be painted!

So working with my new style of working from the inside out, his skin got done tonight.

I used the Scale 75 Blood and Fire set, working from dark to light, not using the orange or yellow on the skin.

The yellow got used for his scalera, and the inside of his mouth. I didn't think red would work well here, and I thought that if it matched his eyes, it might be his 'inner fire' or some such...

The horns, teeth, and nails were done with SC75 Iroku.

This (Redacted due to family forum rules, but REALLY bad) figure has a SCULPTED pupil, but only in his right eye! I was not going to attempt to push green stuff there, and I just realized that I could have tried the liquid GS, so I just painted SC75 Cantabric Blue for pupils.

Someday I will try to do more than just one color on irises / pupils....

off to a good start.  Do you intend to give him red flames on the arms and head or are you thinking of say green flames for more of a copper flame or Blue maybe?

Was planning on 'normal flames, my last foray into odd colors was pretty awful. I may have to rethink now!

So I saw your painting spot, which looked like a very nice area to work in, and I saw a far off photo of the Efreet there too.  Have you got any more done? Inquiring minds want to know....

Got a little more don on this guy since I last posted, just not much and no pics...

Greens are Scale 75 Black Forrest and Irati Green, Blue is Tesla Blue.

I also cleaned up the white for the flames with Reaper Brush on Primer.

Still needs a lot more work!

I am trying/ thinking in 'pastel' type colors for his clothes. But I can't really use any reds or yellows because of the flame effect I hope to create... Not sure what color to do his shirt and sash... Though I may do the sash in red as a tie in to the flames...

Sorry about that!

There has been little progress on him, as I started a big push to do some Halloween stuff....

Did the flame base with GW Bad moon Yellow, and a couple coats of Scale 75 Sandalwood on his shirt. Not sure if I am going to keep the sandalwood, or do something different....

Okay, a little more done...

The hilts and necklace & Chain were done with Necro Gold, and the sword blade another coat of Black Metal. His shirt got a couple of washes with GW Devlin Mud.

Should I add a darker red to the flame tips?

Comments welcome!!!

I personally feel there is too much yellow still showing. I would add a bit more orange and then tip it all in bright red and then dark red. That's just my preference though. Are you going to do an OSL effect on him?

Most of these skeleton minis are from the same second hand purchase where I got the zombies that were featured a few week ago. I got the incomplete undead mammoth off Ebay several years ago, and Short Wart himself is an Oathsworn Halfling Necromancer. All minis have been given 3D printed bases, most of them 25mm.

Sorry about the pics being a bit blurry, I am still struggling with the camera. It seems it is not meant for such small items.

Most of the miniatures are from a recent 2019 kickstarter by Bear's Head Miniatures, apart from the large Star Spawn that is from the game Cthulhu Wars by Petersen Games. One of the kickstarters for that game had an option for one each of the miniatures extra, and this one is from that set. I hacked off the moulded base it originally came with so I could have similar style bases for the whole family.

      Hello again!

here are the other two that I just finished, two elven fighters that Ran Partha did a while back.  They had a couple neat ideas, one was to have a male and female version of a race and class, and these two are the miniatures that are for the Male and Female Elven Fighters.  Not sure who the sculptor is on these, should probably find out.

I did them both with more or less identical color schemes, partly in the thought that it's the same adventurer just in a different male or female version and then also because it made my life easier with one color scheme instead of two.

      and here they are together:

      Anyhows, hope you enjoy!

Ziba got started some time ago now as an excuse to try out the scale 75 fantasy and games copper nmm set that I had purchased and not really used.  TBH I like their original line of paints better and I'm not sure I'll buy more of the F&G line.  So after the copper, she got some red skin, firey hair, and then proceeded to sit until I decided to finish her up this weekend. I tried something I don't usually do for the sword hilts, and am not excited by how it turned out, but she is ready for the hypothetical tabletop none the less.
