I'd love to see a new turn-based Battletech computer game.  Hope this does well.  Now where's my C.A.V. pc game?  :;):

I have to say, Harebrained Schemes LLC is such a great name for a company on kickstarter, hehe.  That just edges out Missing Worlds Media (for an MMO kickstarter).

I'm a massive fan of Battletech and have always been surprised at the lack of turn based tactical games Battletech games on the PC.  Great to see that someone is finally making another one!

I also like that they are starting the game off in 3025.  That was always my favourite era in the Battletech universe.

With that said, I'm going to wait until I see reviews before buying.  Unfortunately, there just isn't enough detail in the KS about the game for me to back.

I enjoyed MechWarrior Tactics back in the day. If this looks anything like that, I'm in. I'm not really sure about the turn based part though.

MechWarrior Tactics was a turn-based game that was in development 2 years ago. (It got canned late last year.)  Are you thinking about MechCommander? If you liked MC, the same guy that ran that project is helping to run this one. Mitch Gitelman.

Eeh.. I like the idea, but they have nothing but concept art right now, no demo, no engine, no nothing.  Starred but not backing yet.  I know Harebrained has a good rep but this is really sparse.

They're using Unity 5 for the engine and they've got models and skins from MechWarrior Online.

Right now, this is going off their track record and nastalgia. For their studio it seems VERY kickstartery, like they needed convincing this was a good project before they put effort into it.

They've already invested time and money into the game. Enough that even if the KS failed they would have put out a single player, mech-only, skirmish mode.

not too bad so far, just a hair over 1 million in the first 24 hours.  that kicks off phase 2 which is the story mode.  I like the jacket too, but not enough to pay $150 for it.  I'd kind of like to see some add ons or a pledge to get all 5 patches or key chains  the game room might look nice with all 5 banners hanging on it but I don't think I would want to pay that much.

No other company owns the rights to any CAV related computer games. Permission to develop a computer game for CAV was given to a company which at this time they have not.

Do they have exclusive rights? If so, do the rights revert back to Reaper and/or Talon at some point?
