Yes, the lighting effects are amazing.

Yesterday was my day to play in an rpg (homebrewed from D&D), and the DM set up his Dwarven Forge collection for a 3-D crawl.  You can tell we’re a club of grognards, though.  The mushroom forest is all executed in Otherworlds Artifacts plaster castings, which are now 30 years out of production.

I made it out to Scrum Con in Silver Spring,Maryland, yesterday.  I ended up substituting into a Buck Rogers game with 1930s semi-flat home cast figures (a staple of our club).

Here Princess Ardalla (tracked down and painted by my younger son) and some minions (tigermen of Mars) skulk around the elevator shaft at Space Station Accipiter.

After that I ran a game.  I had volunteered to dust off my home rules 54mm medieval skirmish game, and that session went well.  With an odd number of players, I had to fight one of the retinues myself, so I don’t have as good a sense of how it went as I usually do.  From the GM point of view, though, the fact that everyone picked up the rules and was engaged was an excellent sign.

This project was originally done back in 2003 as part of our Battles for Beginners contest.  While I have exceeded the initial $100 budget with several additions over the years, it remains one of the best hundred bucks I’ve spent on gaming...

Ran the first session of the module "Weathering the Storm" from Across Eberron's Convergence Manifesto line available on DMsGuild.

The party bard put polymorph to the test with a massive crocodile form, but unfortunately died after a critical fail on a death save.

Here are some pics of the session (spoilers due to quantity of pics):

I got back last night from a weekend at Cincycon, at the Butler County Fairgrounds on the north side of the Cincinnati area.  In addition to gaming, it was an opportunity to visit with my brother for the weekend. (This is him; I didn’t end up in any pictures...)

We ran or played continuous Chaos Wars mass battle miniatures games for the weekend.

The paint and take at this event is run by Iron Wind Metals, so they have folks painting various Ral Partha figures.

This is the third time my brother and I have been to Cincycon; attendance seemed a little light this year, possibly due to pandemic concerns.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of a creative birdy @SparrowMarie I think I recognize that papercraft boat!  There's a lot of work invested in that, nice job!

Need to remember to print out the below decks of my shipboard tussle for my saltmarsh game this weekend!

Oh, that's not my work. This is mine. It suffered some transportation damage but should be easily fixable.

The last of the governor’s guard fruitlessly pursue the enemy, who withdrew after accomplishing all objectives.

Last Saturday I played a solo game using the upcoming "Wars of Ozz" rules and figures, and have posted a battle report on my blog.  This is a project Old Glory/Blue Moon is developing with plans to do a Kickstarter this Spring, and I was fortunate enough to be part of the playtest and demo game team.    The game is going to a be mass battle game, and is set in a fun post-apocalyptic Oz-based world, with Munchkin, Winkie, Quadling, and Giliken forces (along with many interesting and odd allies).

To read my battle report see: Wars of Ozz Solo Game
