Rob Dean
That last game was intended to get me up to speed with the rules, since I was running a game at the club meeting last night. This is feeling like a year in which these guys are going to be on the table a lot. I was looking over my blog archives on this recently, and was reminded that the first game we played with them ( @Chris Palmer and I) was in August 1996, 25 years ago next month.
Chris Palmer
We played the first official game of our Stargrave campaign today, and did the Salvage Crew scenario. @Rob Dean and I both took part. We had 5 players on a 3’x6’ table, and used two crashed ships. I had a great time playing, but had the inglorious result of my Captain being killed by a Hail Mary grenade throw in the last turn. So, I lost all my loot and experience and need to start over next time. On the up side, I guess it’s better to lose you Captain in the first game rather than a later one... Rob Dean
It seems that it was my turn to “win” the Stargrave game yesterday. We tried out the “locked” markers for the loot. Captain Toby informs Holly that she can have minions climb trees in search of treasure when she’s captain…
Rob Dean
In addition to building terrain yesterday, my son and I had a couple of quick rounds of Hordes of the Things with 1/72 scale figures and a Battle of the Five Armies scenario…

Chris Palmer
Today we did the third of our Stargrave campaign games and did the “Data Vault” scenario from the rulebook. It was a tough scenario and I felt lucky to make it off with a single Loot Token, and no crew permanently killed. Rob Dean
So, our club ran Barrage XXIV last weekend. I wore a mask, but mask wear was hardly universal, so I am monitoring my temperature this week. (Yes, I’m vaccinated…but there are enough breakthroughs that I was having second thoughts about the gathering.) Anyway, on account of the pandemic, it looks like we were the first con out of the gate in this region; we had about 200 individuals through, up from a record in the Before Times of about 130. I still need to update my game log; I was in four games, including a recreation of the last battle in the 1982 Conan movie played with handmade wooden peg figures: And the first convention game put on by one of our newer club members, an attack on a castle using fantasy figures:
Werkrobotwerk
Played some this is not a test today. I killed all but one of my own minis and still came in 2nd in a 4 player game. Also the chronoscope trailer and the big mutant were a hit.
Chris Palmer
@Rob Dean and I took part in our November Stargrave campaign game yesterday, and did the "Skymine" scenario from the main rulebook. We had 5 players, and used a 3"x6" playing area to represent the old abandoned floating mining platform. I have posted more photos over in the Stargrave thread: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/89407-stargrave-in-2021/&do=findComment&comment=2040632
Chris Palmer
Friday I had some friends over to play a big Wars of Ozz game. We had 6 players and used a 6'x10' table. I needed a quick scenario, so grabbed an old issue of Wargamer's Digest from 1981(!) and found the old "Musket & Saber" scenario it conatained called, "Encounter on the Minsk Road". The scenario featured French forces trying to clear an area of encroaching Russians in an attemt to keep the road to Minsk open. I repurposed the set-up to be a force of Munchkins who were trying to keep the Yellow Brick Road open from an encroaching force of WInkies, and we were all set. I adapted the map to be a little better suited for Ozz games, and drew up some Orders of Battle. It turned out to be a fun and tense battle! In the end the Winkies were able to roll over the Munchkins, as the slower Munchkin forces were never able to get themselves shaken out into proper battle lines before the WInkies fell upon them. Nonetheless, the players all had a fun time, and I got a chance to get my figures out on the table for an actual game.

malefactus
I pretty well knew my Night Goblins were going to remain unused as long as they stayed in my possession. SO I gave them to my friend Sarah's husband Ben who was a Warhammer player. Ben & his main opponent, Ethan, became two of the friends that I left behind in Texas...we are e-mail friends now. All that is leading up to some photos of their recent battle. The opposing forces in a Night Goblin Civil War: Ethan's Night Goblins: Ben's Night Goblins: They were only able to get in two turns. The battle will pick up over the weekend. Giving Ben the Red Brotherhood was one of my better decisions. I gained two friend AND I finally got to see the Little Loonies in action.
