Would there be a problem showing pics of real medieval weapons in forumite possession on these forums?

Would people be interested in seeing and or showing off their weapons?

Thought I would ask before posting real pics, I can always come back and edit, and if it is not okay, they can state that and lock the thread...

well, here's my edged and blunt weapons (except the 6 foot bo, it didn't fit). Not so much a 'collection' as an 'assortment' Yes, I do know how to use all of them   top to bottom. Live steel katana,

OK folks, since I started this thread, I think I had better show MY Steel....   All of these weapons have real steel blades, but they are NOT sharp. Of course, 2 of them don't need to be... They we

I don't know about "real" but I do have a few things, nothing fancy or expensive, that I sorta collected back in the heyday of my AD&D playing.

Not sure exactly where they all are at the moment. I'll try to do a bit of a look around for them later on.

I just have a cheep knockoff sabre from India.  Had to have some sword after being in the Fencing team in College.  (We only took 6th place.  In the nation)

That's it? You should be ashamed. ::P:

I'd enjoy seeing the pics too, for the reason Leader of the Rats said. ::D: (Also because swords etc are actually very pretty. :;): )

I have a reproduction of Gandalf's sword Glamdring in my possession; it was a gift from my ex wife. Thing must weigh about fifteen pounds; it's no good for anything but display. I also have a katana and a short sword, both of which were gifts from my old gaming group.

Thing is, I'm not really a swords person. I'd just as soon have dragons, really. But I'm equipped for the zombie apocalypse...

Only steel I own that could be considered a weapon are my kitchen knives.

Well, I have some tools that could be weaponized in a pinch - camp axe, mattock, 60's era military collapsable shovel/pick.

Nothing specifically used for self-defense and/or combat.  But then again, I am a fan of Alton Brown, and loathe uni-taskers, except my fire extinguisher.

I've got a short sword somewhere, also a pair of sai, and beyond that my weaponized steel is used for hurling lead via exploding gunpowder down range...

If it is stuff a gunslinger in pathfinder would use, up to cap lock I would think, Please show us!

Cartridge weapons, no....

That would be for a Chronoscope type thread....

I could contribute to that as well....

Well, I'd have to take them all down from the walls and take pictures.  That may take some time.  Seven swords, two axes, a war hammer, couple of dirks/daggers.  Most of them are replicas, some are museum quality.  Would people prefer display or action shots? (in other words do you want me holding it under light for NMM lighting reference?)  If action, it will definitely be couple of day until I get around to it.

I have...within arm's reach of my desk: 3 katanas (functional pieces, full tang, sharpened, etc) 4 daggers (2 display only), a bo staff, a machete, a dirk, a dozen or so folding knives, a 9 section steel chain, a manriki gusari, a recurve bow, a longbow, two dozen wooden arrows and countless carbon for each, and a crossbow.

Hi guys.  Here is my painted Bones Succubus.  Parts of her are a hot mess but I am so happy with her!!  I pushed through sone issues I was having and there are so many spots I learned on her.  For starters she has the first makeup I ever put on a mini.  She has eyeshadow, blush, lipstick complete with little white light dot on her lower lip for fun and a beauty mark!  I started with slightly less pronounced makeup but then she's a succubus, she would have exaggerated makeup I think.  The unfortunate thing about her is her right cheek has quite an indent and then a mold line a little past that.  I disguised the mold line by giving her a "lady sideburn" to match the one sculpted on the other side but there's nothing I can do about the indent.  Then her wings, for the first time I was able to get more of a variation in the colouring which I tried with my bat demon and ended up covering because I didn't like it.  Her dress could have used a bit more but I was done and I'm still working on the layering/highlighting in general.  One thing that still bothers me is the rough look of my paint jobs when I'm done.  I paint with a wet palette so thinning isn't an issue I don't think and don't put coats on top of drying paints so that's not causing it.  Hope everyone likes her as much as I do.  I even have a second copy of her to do later in my painting journey.

Here is the snake man warrior I finished a few weeks back.  I was having issues with the yellow belly since the paint was very chalky but I did what I could.  I am happy with the shading and tiny reflection on the gem on his bracer, it was my first time doing that, even though it's basically invisible from 3 feet away.  Let me know what you think!

Presenting Ziba the Efreeti (although I've gone for more of a giant, scary woman version) who was Marchs Bones Black promo mini.

I think I did a pretty good job with her head, the rest not so much, but I had fun painting her.

This pretty lady jumped straight to the front of my painting queue, and it was about time I painted another Reaper mini:-

Here she is, all cleaned up and undercoated in primer.

      Got a little further today:-

Not going down the red skin route, so Ziba is currently covered in a basecoat of 1:2 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin with a Flesh Wash.

Aiming to get her skin finished tonight.

Presenting Veteran Gutter from the game Guild Ball, a damaged young woman who used her trauma to transform into a rage-fuelled murder machine. Originally part of the Union team (haven't painted this version yet), this veteran version marks her move to the Butchers Guild team.

As I said in her WIP thread, this mini had rather sever moldline and excess flash issues (she's a one piece mini and the areas between her arms, sides and chain were pretty much filled in) which has left the details in a few areas in a bit of a mess, despite that I think she turned out okay.
