I was thinking the falcon or the small rearing dragon.  I was looking on the Reaper store and thought these would be cool/interesting too:

The bird (falcon?) is slightly different from the ones in your pics

I also thought the second model from the left with a bit of added work would make for an interesting addition too:

I was thinking slightly longer body and/or larger wings.

Vulture is not bad, I vote for raven though.  Though falcon would make more sense as they have been trained for hunting.  Add a dog too.  At my brother's wedding they had a falconer for entertainment.  An he explained how dog spook the prey for the falcons to grab.  It was really cool to watch.

So my Reaper order with the birds came in, and as I was not really in the mood to paint tonight, I opened the blisters and started putting together birds.

I ordered Po3456C,

and P02969B.

Look closely at the second 2 minis, it may not be easy to tell, but they are the same sculpt, with different attachment points. The first only has the feet, the second has 3 additional points on the tail. I chose  P02934B as the bird I will use as it will require less work to set him up...

I have also Clipped, Dremeled, and Filed away most of the arm piece so that I can mount it on Kanaag's left arm. I also put some black wash on the feet to bring out the details so I can see how much more file work I need to do....

That is tentatively what it will look like when everything gets painted.

He has a bracer on his left arm that looks like some kind of scaley hide, so it is likely a good bracer to protect him from the talons, but looking at the feet of the bird, I am going to have to file away more of the metal to get the bird in place. I am concerned that I will either damage the feet, or have an unsightly lump on his arm where the bird is gripping.

I think I am just going to have to be really careful with the file, and live with a small lump. I don't think attaching it and sculpting new feet is an option, as it would then become a nightmare to paint them.

Looks good, very nice pose.

I was wondering if you could disquise the "lump".

The bird might have some chain or rope around it's feet to stay attached to the bracer?

If you put that there in a certain way you can obstruct any lump from view?

OK, some picks of the Bird....

I went very slowly and filed away as much as I dared from his feet, then drilled a hole with my pin vise and put a paper clip in it. This will be my handle while I paint, and will be clipped short for the pin into the Ranger's arm, in which I also drilled a hole....

I used the pin vise instead of the dremel, because I did not want to go all the way through the bird or his arm by accident. I have done that by accident before...

The Base coat is Scale 75 Walnut, I was going to use that for something else, but...

Actually a lot of detail for such a small mini....

Worked on his skin a bit tonight, using a drop of GW  Tanned Flesh mixed with 4 drops of GW Bronzed Flesh, and about 10 drops of water...

After 3 coats or so, I added 3 drops of Scale 75 Light Skin, and another 6 drops of water....

I also had to re claim some shadow with a very thin application of GW Tanned flesh in some spots...

May have to do that again. Should I go darker with the shadows on his flesh? I have always worked up, but I do have GW Dark Flesh I could add to the tanned flesh....

I did his hair and beard with Scale 75Eclipse Grey as a frame for his face....

I also had been using GW Brown ink on his bird, and had dry brushed some GW bleached bone on to get a better look at the feathers and other details....

Kind of like the way the bird looks held next to where it will finally go....

He reminds me of Balto Burrowell the gnome, as they both have Dread locks!
