JeffStray
Streak intact, still cheating like crazy. I've just accepted that I'm going to keep on doing so until something clicks. I have started typing out my guess before checking, though. I'm taking more time, but finding that I can eventually come up with more than I was getting before.

That's pretty much what I do, type what I think it is and check if I'm not pretty sure.
Doug Sundseth
You know, I said yesterday that I like the reviews, but today Duolingo served up seven (7) subjects needing review. That was a bit annoying. Still finished them and two new lessons, though. Edited March 15, 2016 by Doug Sundseth
Jasonator
Glad to see everyone is keeping on moving ahead ! I know your frustration with the refreshing rate oh too well. I'm still refreshing when I get the urge, though I've been getting off main page topics, reading cultural news, property development, home improvement. Trying to be as diverse as I can. Saw an article that said they found beads from Egypt in several tombs, turns out beads were made in same place and time as tuts tomb in Egypt. The ancient Norwegians were exchanging Amber (prized in Egypt) for glass beads (prized in Norway) Was a fun read in my Norwegian ! Keep up the great work !

Time to go practice.
Jasonator
You folks crack me up ! In a good way ! I continue listening to radio and Foreign TV reporting to improve my Norwegian Ear. Last night the Queen of Denmark held a ball (I didn't realize that the program was going to be broadcast in Dansk). I turned it on and was listening to the music and I hear them announce the arrive of Prince Joachim, and Princess Marie. I then look up and yeap, tha's who is on screen, then a bit later Crown-Prince Frederick, and Crown princess Mary, and Oh.. a New Crown.. and it suddenly dawns on me, I'm translating DANISH ! It sounds like brooklyn-ese to me, but I did understand what they were saying. So it is true.. Norwegian is a three-for language. Learn one you also get Swedish and Danish. Keep your eyes out for programs in Swedish, Italian, German and Spanish, get that ear toned up ! Was a lot of fun ! Keep on Rolling !
Silvervane
Hah! That's great Jason. I like when I'm watching a lately and they switch to someone speaking Spanish and I can almost understand them with out the subtitle. Cause I know they are keeping it simple for the actor and the american audience, but I still feel like I've been making progress. Now to rewatch some of my more favorite Netflix shows with spanish subtitles.
Jasonator
YAY..Great for you !!! How about seeing if they have a Spanish movie with English Subtitles. Put it on while you are painting a mini.. your brain will translate the movie as you paint, and you might be surprised how much you really do comprehend. I play Norwegian Broadcasts that way. Just a suggestion :)

Silvervane
So, today I finally broke out a legal pad for my lessons. I wrote down the past tense and direct objects on the pad so I could refer to them. I also noted any words that came up that have been causing me issues. If definitely takes longer, but looking at the pad and/or hover seems to help it make more sense to me.

PBS has a learn Spanish program that is all games, and stories. I laughed my butt off. https://www.facebook.com/HardcoreItalians/videos/827280074047463/ Some things you have to learn from the experts/natives !
