Jasonator
Alas I fell back again. Starting back again tonight. I NEVER count falls... only getting up again. Everyone falls, its winners that get back up !
Erifnogard
7 sections with a total of 27 lessons left in the current version of the Swedish tree and it will be time for me to start over. At the ratio of practice days to new material days that I usually go with, that's probably sometime toward middle September. I've been taking more of an immersion, don't try to absorb it all perfectly before advancing approach this first time through. Next time I plan to go through more methodically. My less perfectionist approach this first time through the tree was on purpose to get a good baseline feel for the language the way a child does by exposure before I try to make a more formal approach. I'm reasonably pleased with the results as I can work out about half what I read on SVT Nyheter (Swedish news) without resorting to translators or dictionaries, which I feel is not a terrible ratio given my relatively low exposure so far. My spoken comprehension is lower unless the person speaking makes a serious effort to speak clearly and slowly so my brain has time to absorb the words, but I have dramatically improved from my starting point of having no knowledge at all of the language. I need to put in a lot more time watching video of Swedes speaking and will make a point of it in my second run through.
Doug Sundseth
I've been slacking fairly hard for the last month or so, doing mostly maintenance lessons. Hope to get caught back up to where I was in a couple of weeks. (Two refresher lessons a day is nowhere near enough to keep up with the skill bars.) When I was on vacation, I tried out the Duolingo phone app a couple of times. Much easier to blast through a lesson, but I don't think it was as effective at anything other than keeping my streak running.

If I've had a long day I'll use the phone app to make my practice quota because I also find its lessons slightly easier. It seems to use more of the word match and sentence translation from a small word pool than the computer version does. I also use the phone app when I have a few spare minutes waiting on somebody. Silvervane
I started with the phone app, then I moved to website. I prefer the website to app as well. I've also be4 n pushing through the lessons not trying worry about getting the previous perfect. I've been amazed when I've gone back to review just how much I've actually retained. Oh and I'm currently working my back through level 1 of Rosetta Stone. I'm on the second (of 4 per lesson) section, of lesson 2 (of 4 per level).
Jasonator
Yay For everyone. Don't sweat when life gets in the way of things. Its learning a language, soon you will be tospråklig (bilingual). Now that I have completed the tree I amuse myself (really) by going back and listening to the "Royal New Years Speeches" They are usually (Unless King Harold is slurring..which he does do on occasion). very very clear. I would recommend to (dragonfire) erifnograd that he listens to King Karl Gustav's speeches to the Parliament for the past several years. Makes good listening. Sounds like everyone is climbing. Keep up the good work, and remember you are competing with yourself. I finally let my Streak die yesterday. I was keeping it up by using the refresher lessons. Don't want to be doing that. Good luck everyone (Lykke til Alle, Jeg er stolt av dere). Good luck, I'm proud of you all. Edited August 13, 2016 by Jasonator

Erifnogard
I currently have 666 Lingots. Does that mean I can buy Abyssal lessons in the store now?

Erifnogard
I see rumors that the 2.0 version of the Swedish tree is forthcoming sometime this year. Good timing if so.
Jasonator
I see rumors that the 2.0 version of the Swedish tree is forthcoming sometime this year. Good timing if so. I was in total shock when I saw the Norwegian upgrade. Far more complex that I had imagined. They doubled and some the entire course. So I hope the Swedish upgrade is not so drastic. One of these days I should check out the Danish and Swedish Courses.

I really like learning through Duolingo's interface so adding a bunch of new material would be awesome for me.

I was in shock because I think I had my first Owl for about two weeks, and then everything was totally overwhelming. Once you get the second owl again, you REALLY have earned it LOL. Good Luck ! So glad that you are taking the Duolingo Course, we can support everyone as they jump through the hoops, and barrels. And Congrats again.
