Erifnogard
Just had a catastrophic event occur. (One I would have NEVER thought about)... so a heads up on this one. I switched keyboards to Norwegian last night as I did my refreshers. This morning I went to do a remote login in to my bank account. I entered in my "Known login and password",, and got Locked out of my account. Tried it again.. got notified I was locked out !!! WTF !! seems like there was 卸 æ problem ! Head desk ! Heh. Perils of being multilingual. Fortunately my Mac keyboard lets me type foreign letters fairly easily without actually changing to that keyboard setup.
Jasonator
How the progress on the Duolingo front for all of us ? I'm doing refreshers when I feel like. Not taking notes anymore. Just type what comes to my mind as I am reading or writing. Either I learned a lot, or it has gotten easier (I doubt the latter) ! LOL I'm even catching the sillies now a days: Hvem har elefant min? "Who has my Elephant" ? ROFL. Edited September 25, 2016 by Jasonator

Jasonator
I was reading the Norwegian Dagbladet page today, and saw this article. I think my Danish speaking, and Swedish speaking friends will be able to comprehend it. http://www.dagbladet.no/kjendis/dronning-margrethe-er-klokkeklar-vil-ikke-bli-pensjonist/63820440 Jay
Silvervane
I'm going to try to finish by the end of the year. Which means around 2 topics a week / 2-3 new lessons a day. Easily done when I realized how much time they actually take to complete.
Kheprera
I started on learning Welsh. Problem is only time I have to do it is late at night just before bed when I'm super sleepy.

Good Luck Aryanun ! It might work that way very well. Being sleepy might make the subconscious more willing to accept what you are studying, and your brain might play with it more in you sleep. I did my first course early (6:30 a.m.) each day, while reading the news in Norwegian also. The enhanced course I did in the early evening. Worked much better for me. Keep us updated on how you are doing, we'll wave the pom poms for you !

Silvervane
I started on learning Welsh. Problem is only time I have to do it is late at night just before bed when I'm super sleepy.Congrats on starting up a new language. As jasonator said, we will be glad to cheer, help, or just provide an ear for your frustration. Everyone learns differently. I'm super sleepy right after work so that never worked for me. Best times for me is evenings or mornings on my days off. Breaks are great for reviewing since I use my hands free. But I prefer using my computer for learning new stuff.
Jasonator
Hope everyone is advancing in their language threads. I have been having a lot of fun since my cousin is now writing to me in Norwegian, dropped the English completely now. I sometime write back in Norwegian and English. I have an editor as a cousin, and I would love to just write back "mistakes and all in Norwegian, but it triggers a great deal of grammar correction, information, TMI.. So now I write in English, toss in words I am Absolutely sure that I have spelled correctly, and the sentence is absolutely correct. Makes communication difficult. They are comfortable knowing I understand them, and we communicate. I look forward to next years trip, and then I speak only Norwegian for two weeks, and spelling isn't a consideration ! Jeg skal bli veldig gla av det.. (I will be very happy of that).

Jasonator
My Cousin's wife is studying French, and he is studying Russian ! So two additional students on my part. My brother completed the German Tree, and is now studying Spanish ! I'm impressed. He uses a lot of Spanish in Texas. I've been spending a lot of time listening to pod casts in Norwegian, trying to improve my verbal hearing skills. Some sentences are cake, others are so technical I'm lost. Just takes time and practice ! Keep on climbing everyone !
