Wow! I would have freaked out. You did a great job! The golem looks cool, I really like that gnome, and the whole thing tells the story!

the golem and the scenery are amazing.

I am going to have to add that golem to my wish list (ie the reaper cart)

I may refer back to this one when I paint it.

(see my new title!)

You did an UBERLY awesome job on these. I was blown away with your diroama, and i am happy that this got you a bit out of your comfort zone.  If you always stay there, you will never grow as an artist. Also, I WILL take Pictures this week <3

My secret Sophie is winging its way to its recipient as I write this and may even arrive before the new year!

I have been practicing a technique shown to me by @Mocha and have produced. Number of these this year so its only fitting that my SS be one of them.

The present is actually a 6 sided die from dice jail for too many 1's so for its trouble it has been incarcerated in greenstuff wrapping paper!

I modified Rocky a little bit to flatten his wings to more of a waiting position.

As for the story, Rocky has been asked to wait for his present and he intends to make sure it does not get away!

I enjoyed making the little bow much more than I should have but it was a lot of fun.  The Rocky series is great.  The eyes are just large enough to get some real detail into without overwhelming the mini and ever part of the mini is accessible to paint!

I hope his recipient likes him and that he reminds everyone that good things will come with a little bit of patience

It has been a while since my last post, I'm am just struggling to find the free time to sit down and paint or build at the moment.

Anyway, this week I got the opportunity to run some run some 'build along' model making workshops with the kids at the Youth Centre where I work, and we have been putting together little X-mas themed display pieces.  It was actually pretty fun being able to share and introduce a new generation to the joys of my nerdy hobby.  I was pretty pleased with how they turned out so I figured I would share.

The base is just a piece of log, and the moose is a very cheap plastic toy (I repainted mine), which I managed to find at a local discount store in big buckets of 50 animals for £2, they really cheap and nasty, but actually paint up nicely.  Everything else is just standard modeling stuff, sculptamold, static grasses, clump foliage etc.

On another note I have not forgotten about or abandoned my Apocalyptic Suburbia Journal, it is still sat on my desk gathering dust.  I plan to get back to it in the new year.

I am diving into some more of the white-undercoated Bones 1 models that are cluttering up my Drawers of Doom, models that for some reason or other have been stuck in limbo never to get to painted-heaven.
This was painted mainly with the so-called "one and done" method; a single coat of Citadel Contrast paints on a white undercoat, apart from a few details in regular paint, such as the sword and belt buckle done in metals and the whites of the eyeballs. Some black used for blacklining around some of the edges and Vallejo Sand Yellow for the hair.
The rim of the base needs a second coat of black.

      77164 Elliwyn Heatherlark, Gnome Bard.

Sculpted by Derek Schubert. 25mm base.

It was part of the "Half Sized Heroes" subset of the Bones 1 Core set.

Is this encounter a matter of survival or planned by the sorceress.  Her story either way seems... fishy.

First attempt at a large resin Diorama.
It needs the resin sides sanded/buffed with a mechanical sander.  By hand the resin just turns cloudy, so ill will leave it this way until I have access to the proper tool.
a few additional refinements should be done before I enter it into competition
      - more work on wave/ripple patterns.
      - change color / wetness of raft.
      -paint base black.

I am happy with it as a display piece,  I just need to keep the dust off, a the wave surface will be a headache to clean.

Hello Reaper friends!  You might remember I did a whole tribe of Hill Giants on a display board, with hex bases?

This is my follow up to that, this time: Stone Giants.

Errrm, it all got a bit out of hand, and I'd LOVE some input from you all, please

This is where I'm at after a week and I'm a bit stuck tbh.

I think I need to decide more about what the "finish" will look like before I go a lot further. Once I cover that foam with more than paint it's going to be harder to make changes. I'm thinking of sort of "cladding" it in pieces of slate, with sculpted  bits / groundwork in the gaps?

I'd also love to hear suggestions for other miniatures and features to add to the scene to break up those big open rocky spaces. Current extra bits and bobs are just there for a sense of scale and how extra minis might "interrupt" or "enhance" the scene.

      Some next steps though:
      - cork around the hexes on the platforms for the bases to fit into
      - some sort of "door frame"
      - "box in" the sides (which are cut out of a continuing mountainside, in my head at least)

Please, rain your ideas and encouragements upon me!
