Tissue damage with an edged weapon

I want to model a samurai slashing at a foe. The blow strikes from the front the left shoulder, across the sternum and ends somewhere above the right hip. I want it to look bloody, and if possible, showers of blood leaping from the dead guy, splattering the samurai's face.

My question is, What can I use to simulate the blood splurting from the wounds?

I wou.ld recomend having a go at useing Woodland Scenics realistic water effects. It is a white goop that can be teased and molded into just about any shape that you want. I think you could probably use small amounts of it painted red to look like droplets of blood comming from the wound. I don't know of any way to make a spray effect comming far away from the body though.

Cheers,

Julie

That's the woodland scenics water effect I believe. I've been playing around with that stuff too. it dries clear, and you can add washes to it. Or mix color in it while it's wet.

This base is with vallejo's transparent blue wash over the clear stuff.

This base is with vallejo's vedigris glaze when the stuff was still wet.
