A study in layering and magecraft

Hello again,

 

Today I present you my mages from the boardgame Wiz-War, from Fantasy Flight Games:

 

 

With them I took the opportunity to work further on my layering technique. 

 

 

On the green mage I accidentally (and out of patience tbh) started doing a wet blending technique. I turned out ok I guess..

 

 

Then I failed with it on the yellow guy so I had to start all over and got back to layering.

 

 

All in all, I still have a lot to work on but I believe I got the gist of the matter.. the rest is moar and moar practice..

The Wizards of Various Sizes & Shapes are UBERCOOL if some what stylized...love the Little Guy on the right. Your choice of colors really make the minis for moi. GREAT WORK!

Looks great! You nailed it. And awesome work on the yellows. When i do yellows, it always end up looking muddy.  Yours on the other hand is clean and vibrant.  Love it.

Well, my first try was horrible as I have said on the first post. Then I started with VMC German C. Black Brown and layered it all the way up to VMC Beige (cuz beige covers much better than the yellows I have).. but the result was not yellow.(surprisingly :P). but rather beige.. so I cheated a little bit and applied a few thin layers of Vallejo Game Ink Yellow to give it the yellow tint :)
