Thanks everyone, I'm happy you guys like her.

Beautiful and unearthly!

I love the inclusion of the archway.  With its filigree-like design, it seems to simultaneously evoke the idea not only of a trellis from a garden wedding, but a graveyard entry gate.  The limited palette also does wonderfully for giving the feeling of cinematic nighttime lighting.

Also thoughtful is that the figure is removable for gaming use!  :D  That's certainly a touch I can appreciate.

I was hoping it would give the idea of both and also draw your eye to focus up to her face.

Absolutely lovely.

What did you use on the back archway? Is that cotton or Halloween spiderwebbing?

It is cotton, I originally planned to use some spiderweb material you use in the airbrush but after testing it on a few twigs it likely would not hold up well if the usps was rough with it although it would look more realistic I wanted something that could be handled if needed, so Cottonballs did the job.

I absolutely couldn't be more thrilled with my first Secret Sophie model (as the receiver)!  I actually made room to keep it on my painting desk to help keep me inspired.   What's hard to tell in the picture is the color of the dead (undead?) roses in her hand are the same color as the filagree around her dress, which is *amazing*.  I also love the little stitch marks about her exposed skin, it just makes her ooze with character.  She reminds me a bit of Lydia from Beetlejuice, which also entertains me to no end. :)

Which colours did you use?

(This is such a beautiful effect that I really, really have to steal it attempt something similar soon)

Here is a everything I remember as I only wrote down some of the colors on this one.

I used quite a few P3 colors on her. The skin tone I wrote down so I know this one is right, the midtone is P3 Greatcoat grey, the shadow is Reaper blue liner, the highlight P3 Frostbite. Those three with mixes of each to blend. I did use just a touch of Reaper Spectral white to the final highlight. Then I used Scale75 African Shadow to glaze some pinkish purple to her shadows and Reaper's Rosy skin to glaze the transitions and highest points.

Across the entire mini I used blue liner in all the shadows and spectral white as a highlight except her flowers, which I used P3 Moldy Ochre. Her dress actual started as a lavender that I mixed with spectral white and Reaper Sunset purple, but I did not like it so I tried to shift it blue with Reapers clear blue. Which helped a lot without needing to repaint a base coat. Then I used P3's armor wash added a touch of blue liner and glazed it multiple times to get the shadows and darkest parts of her dress. Cleaned up the shadows with just Blue liner, and mixed in frostbite to bring up the midtone and highlights. The final dress highlights are pure spectral white.

Her hair is P3 exile blue again with blue liner and spectral white. All the lining and her stitches are blue liner. Her lips started as P3 Sanguine base mixed with rosy flesh for the highlight. And I am pretty sure her flowers also started as Sanguine base.

Hope all that rambling helps and I hope to see your take on her color scheme soon.

Hello everyone, here are some ensemble pictures of my entry in the "Dia de los Muertos" Sugar Skull Painting Contest. I had simply posted a closeup photo of the skull for the contest. This is the Bones version of 77116, Colossal Skeleton sculpted by Jason Wiebe. This Undead is Huge, 120mm tall, almost 5 inches. Notice I repositioned its arms and removed the shrouds that were hanging between its legs.

The other elements on the base are from Reaper Miniatures as well. There are 77528, Graveyard Ruined Fences by Bob Ridolfi, a 77531, Graveyard Fence Post and 77731, Gargoyle Finials also by Bob Ridolfi, a 77538, Gravestone of Sorrow sculpted by Julie Guthrie and one of the 77534, Tombstones sculpted by Kevin Williams. I used roots, birch tree seed hulls and various synthetic mosses to complete the scene. The base is 75mm (3 inches) wide and was 3d printed. Enjoy!

What is Secret Sophie, you ask?

Well, it's a lot like Secret Santa, with a more attractive (albeit more dangerous) delivery person!  (For those not in the know, Sophie the Succubus is Reaper's mascot.)  This is the time of year for Reaper forumites to give a little holiday cheer to each other.

Unlike most of the exchanges we do on the forums, this will have two categories
      - miniature & gift exchange and gift-only exchange.

Signups will run from November 1st until midnight (PST) November 14th, with the assignments going out by the end of November 16th.

If you've never done an exchange before, how it works is like this:
Everyone who is interested PMs me (SGHawkins09) with the questionnaire below filled out by the deadline.  The organizer (SGHawkins09) then matches you with a person to whom you will send your gift/mini, and another person from whom you will receive a gift/mini from in return (sometimes it's the same person). Halfway through the exchange, you'll need to send the organizers a WIP.  You have until the deadline to send your gift/mini out.
This exchange is based on trust.  Please be respectful of the fact that someone else is investing their time, money and energy into painting a mini for you.  I am simply the organizer, but I will do everything I can to make sure that everyone who paints a miniature receives one.

      The Rules (tl;dr version)
Gifts should be primarily new, Reaper-branded presents. Exchanging painted miniatures is optional (gift only exchange). Fill out the questionnaire below and send it to me via PM. Painters must post a Work In Progress (WIP) image of your mini under a spoiler tag to this thread by December 31st. The deadline for non-painters to mail their items is December 21st.  The deadline for painters is January 31st.
      Full Rules
Decide whether you are doing gift and miniature exchange or gift-only exchange. "Gifts" are Reaper paints, unpainted miniatures, or other Reaper painting supplies.  Recommended dollar value of gifts is $25 or less. The miniature exchange is where you paint a Reaper miniature for someone and mail it to them.  If you want to paint more than one miniature, you may do so. Reaper minis are the focus. If you want to paint more than one miniature, you may do so. If you wish to include other gifts for your recipient, you may do so, but please keep them small.  The focus of the exchange should be a Reaper product. Fill out all the appropriate sections of the questionnaire below and send it to me via PM.  Please fill out the current version of the questionnaire, Please don't just send an old one, as questions may have changed.  Please don't contact your partner unless they have listed themselves as okay with contact. I've included it on the questionnaire, so you'll know who wants to keep it secret and who doesn't.  You will need to acknowledge your assignment message and/or post or message me that you have selected a miniature by December 1st. Basically, if I do not hear anything from you once the assignments go out, you will be dropped, and your recipient will be reassigned.. I really do not want to do this but there have been too many instances in the past of radio silence once assignments go out.  In order to encourage people to start painting early, you will need to post a Work In Progress (WIP) image of your mini under a spoiler tag to this thread by December 31st.  The mini should be at least base-coated by this time.  If you don't post a WIP by this point, I may have to demote you to gift-only or drop you from the exchange.  Please don't make me do this. Try really hard to get your miniature out by the deadline.  Let an organizer know if you are going to be late. Please post in this thread once you have received your miniature from your partner. We all love seeing what everyone did and it serves as an acknowledgement that you received it. In the past some people have wanted to send food - please verify allergens, etc. with your partner before proceeding. If you are mailing internationally and plan to send more than just miniatures/paint, you must contact your recipient to get any "bonus items" approved.  We don't want any trouble with customs.  As an example, plant matter or powders can cause a lot of trouble. The organizers (SGHawkins09) can help facilitate any anonymous conversations you want to have with your partner. Have fun!
      Deadlines
The deadline for acknowledging your assignment is December 1st.
The deadline for mailing gifts is December 21st. This is for the gift only participants, painters can send the gifts separate and earlier than the painted figure but it is not required.
The deadline for a WIP photo is December 31st.
The deadline for mailing exchange miniatures is January 31st, but it's even better if you can get them out by Christmas.

      Exchange Assistant
It is just me (SGHawkins09) this time so be patient if you send me a message or post a question, I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Examples: round or square preference? Unbased, plain base (simple black base), basic base (standard sized base with some scenic elements), or scenic base (fancy base not really suitable for gaming) Please give your partner some inspiration, especially if you have very few preferences above.

Notes: Consider this a non-binding word of inspiration for your partner.  If they're stuck and can't figure out what to paint, maybe this will help them.  No need to repeat your preferences above.  You partner may ignore this question if they already have an idea from the your previously answered questions. Examples: Are there any books or movies you've enjoyed recently?  Is there a challenge or technique you'd like your partner to try?  How about some song lyrics or a quote from a book?

Would you be willing to have multiple exchange partners? Yes, I love painting!
Notes: If yes, specify if there is a limit (though it is unlikely we'll ask you to do more than 2) Would you like to know who is painting for you? No
Examples: Yes, No, No Preference Notes: If you say yes, your preference will be communicated to your partner.  It will be up to them to contact you. Would you like your partner to know who is painting for them? No
Examples: Yes, No, No Preference Notes: You can contact them directly to work out details or ask for advice.  We will attempt to match people with similar preferences, but can't guarantee this is the case. Is there anybody you would prefer not to paint for?  (please include why)    I painted for johndoe123 in the last miniature exchange.
Notes:  If you like to paint for a variety of different people, you can list those you've painted for in the past.  We will do our best to pair you with someone new.  Another situation is that you know certain people in real life, and would prefer to paint for someone you don't know.

This one has been on the desk for awhile to receive paint as there was extra on the palette. I decided to finish him off last night. Added highlights to the cloak and skulls. Shaded everything, but the cloak with Army Painter Dark Tone. I didn’t add any highlights or shading beyond the basics as it isn’t a great cast. But, I think it turned out great for the toy box.
