The good painters mix the Reaper Paints to achieve new colors. (Or so I am given to understand — not claiming to be a particularly good painter by any stretch. )

Side note:  although the actual material changes are overall rather slight, the Director's Cut of Alien 3 is a significantly better movie than the regular release.  Which I find extra weird because you'd expect having like 95% of the same film wouldn't alter very much, but I guess that 5% counts.

Good Morning!

Sunda has started with walking Brutus.

The girls are still asleep it's 09:25 here.

It is still rather cold, the weather should be improving but I have to see it.

For the first time since 1997 the temperature at night was just below zero.

Hurray for Spring.

Whoo! Uploaded a bunch of pics into Show Off.

Tonight's McRib experiment: Korean McRib.

Patties were grilled and basted with bulgogi sauce, then served between two slices of country grain bread with kimchi and mesclun salad leaves drizzled with roasted sesame dressing and chili oil. Topped it off with some green tea mochi for dessert.

I have a 1947 Singer Sewing Machine).. in working condition.

The stupid light still works.. it is a wide harp machine (with ALL the attachments).. was given to me years ago.

Now I want it gone, but I want it to go to someone that will appreciate it.

Really?!?

I love those great old machines. I've kind of had my heart set on a foot-powered one for a while, just for nostalgia's sake.

At the moment my workhorse is a bottom-of-the-line Sears Kenmore machine, all mechanical with no computerized bits to go "pzzzt" at inopportune moments. I've sewn cushions, curtains, costumes, leather aviator caps, clothing for the whole family, and tailored suits on it.

This one has a foot powered block on it.  Its not a treadle.

Sorry you are so far away, it would be yours in an instant.. Le Sigh.

:;):

I am sure you can find a happy home for it.

So how would you guys do 6mm SiFi infantry using only Reaper parts?  CAV is nominally 10mm so their infantry is insufficient.

For 2mm, I'd recommend Hair Roller Armies. 6mm is large enough to show detail, though, so I don't have any good suggestions other than to trade Reaper minis for Heroics and Ros (or whatever).

Good luck finding old-fashioned prickly hair rollers like those these days. I haven't seen them in decades.

Even when I was a kid they had largely been replaced by cheaper foam rubber cylinders with clips.

Actually this isn't surprising at all.  People underestimate the importance of the editor's job, it's why so many director's fight to get final cut.  More movies are ruined in the cutting room that at any other point in production.

Kinda wanna paint, but don't wanna drag all the stuff out and find someplace to do it. Quandary.

I used to get that a lot, it really kills your motivation if you don't have an area set up ready to go.

Same here. Having a dedicated space has really helped me a lot.

Good Morning!  I did have a bit to catch up on!

I'd noticed. ^_^

How's your weekend?

I have an old Singer that belonged to my great-grandmother. Only problem with it is the bobbin spooler doesn't have the hold it used to, so unless you hold the wheel Just Right, loosely threaded bobbin.

Otherwise it works like a champ. One of the first electrics, it's still attached to it's original base. Love it and used it just before Christmas to make some stuff.

And yes, the light still works.

Hate the plastic carp they call "sewing machines" these days. Designed to fall apart if you look at them crosseyed. <_<

That seems to hold true for so much stuff these days. <_<

Spring here has been kinda weird and confused, too.

And then there's Blade Runner... I look forward to 2022 when I can get my hands on the 40th Anniversary Final Final Final Totally We Swear Absolute Ultimate Director's Cut We Promise To Stop Fiddling With It Now In HD Remaster.

It's got so many endings by now they should just rename it "Choose Your Own Adventure".

Technically that is still ruining it in the cutting room.  I didn't say it was always a good thing for the director to get final cut.  ::P:

Nowhere near 14" of snow on the ground, so fortunate that. But the precipitation has now been falling for four days straight. I'm being generic there as it has been rain, hail, tiny ice crystals, small snow, and large snow. I think the weather is having an identity crisis.

Been really struggling with the mobile airfield Savannah I've been painting. I've been painting large sections in Aircraft Grey, but it's over Adamantine Black, so looked more like an unpainted and primed section than anything else. The quandary is that I absolutely want it to look like grey metal. Ponder, ponder, ponder. Then paint more of it. Repeat the pondering and questioning. I've already stripped and restarted on it twice, and as its bigger than my palm, that's a lot of work that hoes poof. But I finally hit upon what I can do. I need to make it look like it is slightly SENMM! That's sky-earth-non-metallic-metal, if one isn't familiar with the acronym. Hopefully, that will provide a visual clue that it is shiny grey, and not just flat primer.

Here's hoping I have time to paint today. Nothing really planned, but life will find a way. Plus, I feel like my back is just slightly out of alignment, so I'll be fighting that today it seems. Yesterday was the family day at work, and we didn't even get to having our picture taken. The lines were just so long, it took us two hours just for a single lab tour. And with only four hours available, it wasn't possible to do both. Family was impressed, so I'm satisfied. Wonder how many complaints they will get on Monday because of the waiting times. Those weren't pleasant.

Technically Han shot.  For him to shoot first, Greedo would also have to have shot and since that didn't happen...  :B):  We really need a pedantic emoji.  Or an agreed color.
