Only two more weeks to go before the Temple of Set Indiegogo campaign ends.  The Ugallu temple guardians have been unlocked and Stheno, consort of Set should be next.  The final stretch goal reward are the giant baboon spiders sculpted by Andy Pieper - definitely a fearsome looking encounter!

The painted figures are looking really good. These might be some of your best sculpts yet.

Thanks!

Oooh, he posted my spiders.  they were really fun to sculpt, yet quite the challenge to deal with all the legs and such:

MINE!!!!  :wow:

Honestly, these are some of the best (if not THE best) looking spiders I've ever seen sculpted, Andy. Seriously, wow!

That face... looks like a Funnel Web Spider....

(Funnel Web Spiders do not play well with others.)

Here's one of my references (orange baboon spider):

I couldn't have it's legs raised that much and still cast, but it is metal and they are designed so you can do this. I also put the fangs a bit further out so they showed more and cast well.

Hmm, aggressive, and often bites without ever entering a threat posture... with a painful (though seldom lethal) bite. Good choice! (Wikipedia....)

Here's a funnel web in a similar posture -

Aggressive, and extremely toxic.

Funnel web spider bite on Youtube - do not look if at all squeamish!

I like spiders, and would love to own an Avondale... but funnel web spiders? *Shudder*

Oooh, those spiders look fantastic! How big are they, what base size would they fit on?

They are about 3 cm across as sculpted.  The legs are pose-able so with a bit of adjustment, they'd fit on a 1 inch.

Perfect! As said, they look really great, nice work!
