Saturday I bought something that I needed for my base, but otherwise I didn't get any other work done. I had a busy Saturday and then I powered through all of Daredevil season 2 on Sunday. ::P: So I should be able to get a lot of work done this coming weekend, as I have a 4 day weekend off of work planned, so even though Sunday will be busy with family, I have 3 other days to utilize. I'm also hoping to spend an hour or two here and there during the week.

I may have been a little over ambitious with my plans, but if I can carve out the right amount of time, I should still be able to stay on target.

Spent all day yesterday working on the base. It looked really good. I added the water to set overnight so I could do the flocking, etc today. Yeah....so the stupid water did not dry clear. It is white and looks like glue. I am so pissed. I have used that stuff many times before and never had it do this. I am hoping maybe it just isn't finished drying since it has really cooled off here the last few days so maybe it is taking longer. Argh! So frustrated! I am going to use the hair dryer on it and see what happens. It's not like I can ruin it at this point.

The hair dryer helped a little. I have let it sit all day. It does look like it is setting and turning clear. It is just taking it forever. We'll see how it looks tomorrow. Whew! I was not very happy this morning! I guess the change in weather is really affecting drying times for the water effect. Good to know I guess.

Whee! I actually got some stuff done the last 2 days! Spoilers, as always:

I talked to the awesome Corporea and she told me about blacklining! I have no idea if I'm doing it right, but it certainly solves my need to make this look cartoony to match the show! I know I've colored it all out of order (need to finish the face and skin first), but I was so excited to see how it's coming along, haha!

I have such an extreme need to do an all-out fire theme after doing that hair! I want to paint a mini with that kind of blending everywhere so I can work on my shadows and stuff. I kept it pretty bright for cartoony purposes here, but it was so difficult to stop myself at this point haha.

My blacklining looks really sloppy (orange takes so many layers!!), but I was happy with the lips. I mixed the teeniest bit of red with the skin color, so it looks like a very faint lip color. :D

Also, any tips for the highlight of the eye? A single haired brush? I keep messing it up, so she doesn't have one at the moment.

Mori...

that hair is great..!   keep up you have hit your stride!   The black lining just defines the separation between colors so us humans can see it which in this case enhances the look you are going for.
