Dwarven Forge KS4

Recommended Posts

They keep adding things and my thought process keeps getting messed up. There are just so many different combinations that I am struggling to see where the best deals are for the most useful pieces.

I sat down tonight and basically planned my pledge out. Now I'm checking the classifieds for a 2nd job.

Google says a kidney typically goes for $1k-$10k...

In all seriousness, I would love some sample builds with and without presets at something like $500 and every $250 above that to however high they want to go.

I see, I want, but then I think about the things I can do with the money other than have more Dwarven Forge sitting static in storage and I just close the tab...

I have decided not to fund this one, it just doesn't make since for me as a new customer.  I am going be getting their dungeon tiles though within the next month.  We will see how my collection is coming along when these hit retail.  I will more than likely pick up the mountains/cliffs pieces when they hit retail.

Will DF go to retail? I was just talking about DF game tiles yesterday with my FLGS, and they couldn't find a way to get them.

I swear they've been selling them on their website, as I went looking a few months ago. I've never seen DF in any store for sale.

Plus, the impetus behind these projects is to have a sustainable and more affordable solution than their historically expensive and fragile resin pieces.

I'm also hoping that Frontline Games, the maker of the Stones Dungeon Tiles has a counter offering Kickstarter that they are working toward. They were a vendor at ReaperCon last year and they are a nice crew.

I don't know if they have the distribution to get them in store... I'm guessing it's not a big enough market. Hell, only one of the local stores within 1.5 hours of me stocks reaper.

I just got confirmation that people CAN increase their pledge level in the pledge manager. So if you pledge only a little bit now you can add later and receive a higher pledge level.

Dwarven Forge does keep much of their products in stock for sale in their online store. The Kickstarter prices do offer substantial savings though. And some of their old product is stocked intermittently but they said they intend to keep the city and castle stuff in stock for a while.

Some really good movement tonight.

An idea for a Gatehouse pledge.  Get one of your wedding pictures and place it just inside the gate.

Perhaps a note saying something like (The queen of my heart)

or get a

Wizards outpost but paint it like a princess tower and put a picture of your daughter in the window and have the flag say something like (forever my princess)

Sure it is a little sappy but what the heck.

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

If anybody here loves cavern terrain and missed DF's first cavern KS KS2, this spring/summer around June DF will have KS6. The theme of KS6 will be Return to the Caverns and should be great fun for those who took part in KS2 or those who are new to DF.

DF had this to say and showed the below teaser pics

We're doing for Caverns what Dungeon of Doom did for Dungeons. A whole new batch of fun pieces to enhance your existing collection, but also completely stand-alone.

      Some of the key features:
New Core Shapes (diagonal wall, convex curves, 1" pieces, etc)
      Passages
Elevation (with stuff that's impossible on graph paper...)
Negative Space pieces (and new Terrain Trays)
      Flashy Pieces (Magnets & LEDs)
      Large pieces (4x4 and larger)

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
