I went in for 2 sets on KS1 and 2 sets plus a few addons for KS2 but I skipped KS3 because, while it was neat, I wouldn't likely get as much use out of it, and the buy in required to get anything useful out of it was much too high. I hadn't heard about compatability problems between KS3 and the previous two KS'ers. Hearing it now makes me glad I didn't go in for KS3 because what I would have gotten the most of would have been that sewer set and if the sewer set doesn't work with my other Dwarven Forge stuff, well that's a problem. I'll keep an eye on this, but I probably won't be getting in on it unless something that works well with KS1 and 2 comes along with it. I just can't afford it.

No regrets about KS1 and 2 though. They are all unpainted still, and I don't use it as much as I would like, but hopefully I'll finish my game room this summer and that may change.

Here is the first not standard castle type items I have seen a teaser pic for.

Hem... It's pretty, but I'm not sure how functional that would be for me... First look to me it looks like mountain-side facing pieces. The number of pieces it would take to create facing that could support a grid-based battle up top on the mountain *shudder* IMHO this one looks like more eye candy and less practical, at least for my needs.

Now if that is a tease at a new version of Cavern wall pieces; something like rocky mountainous caves instead of the limestone sedimentary caverns we currently have that would be really cool. I've actually considered buying some of Dungeonstone's caverns sets to have a more rocky look when I really wanted one.

I'm also still crossing my fingers they decided to produce "Docks" as an expansion for CBS.

While I would not use docks much I hope you get them, but you need these rocks as the shore for your harbor or as rocks for your ships to smash against.

I first saw the mountain pieces as castles are up on hills with rock cliffs so they look good to me to use with castles or just as exterior terrain hills, cliffs or perhaps they might also be able to be used in a circle to be a large rough hole in the ground that leads down to a cavern or dragons lair.

Must Resist...

Urge To Buy Rocks...

There are also pics of a new temple-like roof (assume that will fit CBS) and an interior hallway (Tower? Wall?) shot. Search for threads "Check Behind Doorways" and "Roofs, You Ask?... We Got Roofs For You" over at DF forums if interested. The images were posted directly into the forum instead of an image hosting site, so not re-linking here.

Y'know, docks could be pretty interesting. I have some home-made pieces that are fairly modular, but they're essentially fancy popsicle sticks at the end of the day. We do a lot of set pieces in and around ships though, so...

There was just an email pic sent out as well.  It's on the DF forums as well under "kickstarter email alert."  It's not in that gallery linked earlier yet.

It's a full facade of a castle in front of a town.  Looks super impressive.  (And expensive!  )

If you buy from the next Reaper Halloween promotion, maybe you can get a rock.

Heh. I got enough rocks in Oct I gave some away. My luck with the rocks was disturbing...

This.

Sunday is going to be a glorious and depressing day all in one.

I'm excited about this. I love the caverns, and the city stuff is amazing. With a few add-ons, it's extremely versatile --- tavern, hovel, manner house, ruins. I think people who didn't go in because they felt they didn't need it underestimate its utility.  I really hope they manage a configuration where people can get something really satisfactory at $100 or $200, because that will help the overall popularity of the KS. But I think there will be enough people going in big that it will still be very successful. With all the anticipated variety, I just hope they get the pledge level options so that most potential backers can find their right entry point.  I feel like this is something that could have worked out better in KS III --- I think they learned as went during that one. I hope they find a good way to do it ahead of time this time.

The big question for me now it pledge levels as DF has traditionally done 2, 3, 5 and 10 sets of the basic stuff. Not sure if they can do that this way this time.

Their lead up to everything is loads better than KSIII, and I hope they keep it up in the KS. Last time they freaked out when I took their KS avatar pic and showed it w\to some people. Apparently the avatar pic was a huge secret even hours before the KS launch.

Last time No One had any idea of what the cities would look like. This one is a lot mroe open, lots of great teaser pics.

I get keeping some secret info...even most stuff, but teasers are a good thing.

I am hopeful for a similar tiered model. I am likely to be able to pull off a 2 or 3 set main pledge with mlst everything added on later in the PM.
