Kickstarter is an amazing way not to just sell the product, but to create it with the community. In this project we want to fully exploit this amazing opportunity.

We would love to hear your ideas on the terrain you would like to have. We will be choosing best ideas from the comments and make a voting on them - then we will create terrain liked the most by the community and add them as a stretch goals!

You are a part of this project and we hope you will help us fulfill mission of creating best terrain available! How far this project will go depends on you.

We are expecting to fully ship rewards within 6 month, with the first rewards send after 2-3 months. Those estimations can change depending on the amount of unlocked stretch goals and overall interest.

Quality is our first priority at Awaken Realms. We perfectly understand that to success, we need to provide people who trusted us with great product.

Below you can find some of the comments by backers from our first Kickstarter project - The Edge (we have shipped over 50% of rewards, currently finishing the production). Although it took a little longer then expected, our backers ended up with more components than initially planned.

We will add full effort to ensure your satisfaction as well!

Shipping prices will be calculated after the Kickstarter, based on the total weight of your order and exact location. It is impossible to do it within Kickstarter, so we will use our pledge manager system after KS.

Whole process of production - from modeling and 3D print to resin cast will be done by Awaken Realms, to ensure the final quality of every single model. No third party company will be involved in the process.

Risks and challenges

Biggest risk factor is time of delivery of the rewards. Depending on the final size of the project, there can be maximum few months delay. It must be noted, that whole production process will be done in-house, not relaying on third party companies, which makes planning way easier. We also will give full effort in order to meet the deadlines - but in the end, devotion to quality will be always stronger then to keep the time frame.

I like the various gates. I might go in for a pair of gates or maybe a pair from each of two different styles.

I'm also happy they offer a £1 pledge just to get some of the ad-ons. I like the portals, for instance, and perhaps some totems ..

Aw, man, all the pics are broken. They were all there when I logged off last night...

Resin bases and painted sets!
Hey guys!

Quite a day, we are nearly funded and we got tons of awesome support! Thanks for that ; )

But, we are on the mission to create amazing terrain, so better get back to work!

Painted set

We just added additional pledge with fully painted chosen set. Miniatures will be painted by Awaken Realms painters to High Quality level at a special price of 120 GBP (including cost of terrain set). Hope you will enjoy that - perhaps we will also create a Painted full terrain set as well as painted bases set if there will be demand for it ; )

New stuff - bases

We have also added new thematic stuff to 3 existing ones - 32mm, 40mm and 60mm bases. Check them out below:

If you want to add full set, just add 30 GBP to your current pledge. You can also take multiple sets by adding multiplication of 30GBP to your pledge.

Example: You have now 40 GBP pledge (terrain set) and you want 2 Tesla bases sets. Just add 60 GBP to your set (so total pledge will be 100 GBP).

Stretch goal

We are dangerously close to reaching our Kickstarter goal, so it is about time to talk a little about streetch goals - we will send another update tomorrow morning talking about that. We have heard all of your voices and want to do something special ; )

Here is a little teaser

You have more ideas? Share them! Spread the word! Lets make some awesome terrain together! ;)

Best solution is to post twice in a row - 1st post is main information (name) with the link to the kickstarter, 2nd post has all the pics.

As tempting as the bases are, they don't work well for my needs due to size.

The portals are cool and some of the other odds and ends.

I could see the old me getting:

  • Demon Portals (9GBP)
  • Tesla Objective Markers (16GBP)
  • Tesla Portals (9GBP)
  • Crystals Totems (10GBP)
  • Crystals Portals (9GBP)

My restraint is greater currently due to saving my pennies...and 53GBP (~$77) is not saving pennies.

I regret to inform you that they're working on bases in 30, 40, 50, and 120mm sizes due to...*cough* requests.

Yep. I don't know why that happens to some and not others. Best option in the future is to follow Ub3r's suggestion and do as SamuraiJack does and post a link in the first post and the images in a followup post.

Sorry, been slacking. Got all this moving to do...

Update #3

War banner and few other news!

Hey guys!

We have broke through first stretch goal! Congratulations! From now on, every set of objective markers will include free numbering tokens!

Time for some news from the AWAKENING!

Updated pledges

Upon request we have added weight for each pledge (we will soon add also for bases), so you can easier calculate shipping cost for yourself!

8 000 GBP stretch goal - war banner

You have asked for more stretch goals, so here we go! We were frequently asked to create this one, so here you go!

This is very universal scheme, can go with futuristic battle as well as standard fantasy setting. There is plenty of space for free-hand or the decals. It is also created in a way, that will fit 30, 40 and 50mm bases!

55f212644659aeb30328fcdb7cf32055_origina

Let us know if you like it! Also - further suggestions more then welcomed.

Hard terrain marker

With the objective markers and totem we have also prepared a special hard terrain marker. But to be honest, after calculating cost of resin it consumes, we are not sure if this is a product that would interest you. This is why we want to put it under debate! Is this something you would like to purchase?

Cost for one marker would be 13 GBP

Other ideas

We also want to assure you, that we have taken your feedback regarding all other stuff and we are working on it. It can take a little more time, but we are getting there! Things we are currently working at:

- Transparent floating crystals

- LED crystals + LED tokens

- Few other designs taken out of comments

So keep up the feedback, it is great to hear it! Also, it would be brilliant if you would spread the word about the whole project!

We have also send A LOT of terrain for review, by the end of the week it will get to the media, so hopefully this will boost things and confirm the quality ;)

FB discuss group

We have also created special discuss group on Facebook to encourage discussion on the terrain. It is just easier to do it there, then here on KS page. Please, join and invite people who might be interested!

Remember, we want to create best terrain out there, so all hands on board!

Thanks for your continuous support and lets keep it up!

Been watching the previews for this on Bold's Instagram,  Some crazy cute models, this time sculpted by  Ismael Nieto.  I'm particularly fond of Bisa and Tori, the winners of the dino race, and the BatPacker is too cute.  Resin cast and STL like their last several releases.  I've picked up their STLs before and been very happy, Planning to try to swing for at least one in resin this time, though shipping from Sweden hurts.

I've finished another project that was on my to-do list for years.
First the pics, then some more words:

This was a special resin figure from ReaperCon 2014 (April 24-27 that year) -- sculpted by Bobby Jackson, given to attendees who paid extra for the Artist Banquet on Saturday night.
I was supposed to paint him for Reaper's studio collection after the con, but I got distracted with other stuff and he fell off my list.
He had the SKU 01529 for a while, and although he is out of production now, his clone will be back soon in Bones 5 as part of the "Dreadmere Personas" Core Set extra.  I'll try to remember to revise the tags of this post when he has a new 77xxx or 78xxx number.
Ian Markon (Kuro Cleanbrush) painted a spectacular rendition in 2015 as "Knight of the Blood Moon", with red armor and wings.  You can find it here on the Forum by searching for "01529".

So far in 2021, I've been finishing some figures left over from years past ... and getting points in the Reaper Challenge League for it.
This guy earned 3 points for the April theme of "No More Sunrises" (vampires and other nocturnal or subterranean monsters).

I couldn't decide on a color scheme so I started painting a cool grey monochrome as if he were in moonlight.
I was going to add a warm light from behind, too, but I just kept going with the cool monochrome all around.
I concentrated on the differences in contrast and texture among the materials: armor plates and trim, cloak exterior and interior, sword (blade, crossguard, pommel, hilt), gems, skin, hair, teeth, stone steps, skull, etc.

I spent extra time on the face, as always, such as getting the blends very smooth.
The eyes are sculpted very large, which gave me freedom to manipulate the expression.  I painted the upper lids a fraction of a millimeter lower, to get just the right half-lidded look.
And in order to make him seem more feral, I painted his scleras darker and irises lighter.  I did this a few years ago on a half-orc Pathfinder figure I painted (Skreed Gorewillow).

The specific colors were Blue Liner ("black"), the cold grey triad (9172 Stormcover Grey, 9173 Coldstone Grey, and 9174 Icy Grey, now out of production), Misty Grey, and Pure White.
The blending was somewhat challenging, because the greys changed value from wet to dry!  Stormcover Grey dries a little lighter, and Icy Grey and Misty Grey dry a little darker.  On the back of the cloak, for example, I would see a spot where I wanted to deepen the shadow, and Stormcover Grey looked perfect while wet, but then it would dry lighter and the "shadow" disappeared!  So I had to add Blue Liner to the Stormcover Grey, and trusted that what looked too dark at first would look right when dry.  This phenomenon made it fun to paint little streaks of Stormcover Grey on the interior of the cloak or the sword blade, because the streak would go on invisible over the black, but then appear grey as it dried a few seconds later.

      Enjoy!

      Derek

Odds are this thread may be a tad slow at times due to a variety of factors, but probably also because of the fact it's not only a resin conversion kit, but a recast one since you can't get the original one anymore.

Right off the bat, I have to say this: No, I won't be painting it in Kirk's colours.  They're nice, but I'm not one to always do the "canon colours" or "factory paintjob" thing.  I'm actually kind of thinking of some sort of patchy and "muddied" scatter camouflage based off of some sort of combination of Spotted Hyenas, Dalmatians, and even Great Danes.

^Obligatory "glory shot" of what I suspect will wind up being used.
      - Master Grade MS-06S Zaku II Ver 2.0 Char Aznable's (will mainly be used for the frame)
      - Universal Century MS-05L Zaku I Sniper resin conversion kit
      - SIMP/EVO Studio Zaku II (Ver 2.0) Grunts decal sheet
      - CJHobbies metal detail up parts kit (will mainly be used for leg thrusters as well as the mono-eye)

Yeah, it'll be a bit of a situation of not really using everything in that detail up kit, but such is life.  I don't want to try and figure out what size thrusters to get to work with the kit.  And yes, I know the Zaku I doesn't have the leg thrusters, but oh well.  Resin kit has them, and I kind of like that it's almost like it's a slightly modified Zaku I for better mobility.

^So uh, where's construction so far?  Well, truthfully?  This is where things left off, but will be seeing a decent amount of progress in the very near future.  Yup, you build the initial kit only to then take three quarters of it apart, whee!

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.
