Delicious Caeke!

 Mmmmcaeke.

Those are so darn sweet, did you have to mix sugar in the paint to paint them!? :)

Lol, didn't have to they're sweet enough without it.

Love the purple and teal motif on their gear!

Thank you, I wanted them to have a cohesive color scheme.

Those are pretty sweet. I just got some of the reaper mouselings for a mouse guard game I started running and can't wait to paint them. You pulled of making the fur look unique on each one of them. Great job.

Thank you! The mouslings are another love of mine. I have a bunch, I should get around to painting some more of them. Can't wait to see yours.

Cuteness overload!

 Cuteness is their special ability.

I love the Caeke minis *huggles her's*

Well done!

Thanky. I loves them too. Yours are fantabulous as well.

ThatÅ› one adorable adventurer's party.

I can see the evil demons go:  Awww look at those cuddly little...HEY ..they're shooting arrows...

Thank you.Lol. It's troo.

Great fur!  The pop of the colors and the details are fantastic too!

Thanks! I love painting fur. There's a surprising amount of detail on these. I kept finding new things. You can't see it in the pic but Echidnox's dagger has a bird motif. There's eyes on the side, the purple bit is a beak, and the green bit is feathers. I don't have the brush control to make it look like it should so I went with carrot instead.

Fantastic work!

Pictures aren't bad, I'd say a dark neutral background would help with your pics a lot tho.

Thanks! Yes, I keep meaning to go ahead and order a background but then I get distracted by minis or paint and spend the money on that instead.

You can print it off for free (well the cost of a piece of paper and the ink) or even go down to a craft store and get a piece of felt an appropriate color for like $0.25 each.

Finally I can reveal my entry for the 2. Quarterly Reaper Miniatures painting contest. I am very pleased with the results and even placed fourth. The competition was strong as per usual and very impressive freehands as well as glow effects made the top three stand out.

Rhianna is based on Reaper Miniatures Avatar of Resilience. I changed quite a bit about the miniature to fit the urban fantasy theme: New weapons, including a scratch-build pump gun, pants, leather straps across the chest and more.

I had lots of fun converting this mini and painting her was also a good, if challenging experience. Pink is not usually a colour I choose, but here it really works. I used Kimera Colours Magenta with a bit of The White as a base colour. That was crazy vibrant, so I desaturated it with some grey. For the shadows I mixed some Purple into the Magenta which really helped to make it pop. Finally, highlights were applied using a baby pink.

I had trouble getting the right look for the Juicy logo, but ended up using metallics for it. Micro dots failed and had to be painted over again.
The small labels and garbage were also a first. The labels are all freehands and distressed afterwards. The cigarettes are small styrene strips and the Pepsi can made from some aluminium foil.

So a few questions to spark discussion:

How do you go about sequin, glitter or fake 'crystals' on miniatures? What is your favourite recipe for pink?

Hey everyone, here's a frogman from the 03146 set sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I like the tiki mask this one is using as a shield.

Here's one of my favorite models 03404, Gris Knotslip sculpted by Jason Wiebe, such a storytelling character.

Well, I'm a little late... or very early. Anyhow, here is my 01525 Santa Dwarf by Jason Wiebe. I had prepared this one hoping to paint it in December, but I didn't have the chance to complete it before the holidays. So here it is now. I wish you all the best for this new year, keep on painting.
