deridien fey
I understand the technical differences between the three, but am really curious which application most here use. Might some even use more than one on the same miniature? I've been messing around with a set of inks I was given on some practice minis and it seems I have to be really careful since inks seem to tint higher parts and not just recesses. Since I'm still waiting for my RMS order I haven't been able to see how Reaper liners works, but I'm guessing there's more over-all control. My concern would be if using a liner would look less natural. Thanks.

buglips*the*goblin
I have been known to use all three on one mini. The liner for the lining, ink for bone and armor staining, and a thin paint wash of red for some gory guts bits. It took me forever to get around to using inks... close on twenty years, in fact. But I've since found them handy. Not for all the shading, but for some of it. It's worth messing around with the different approaches just to get a few more tools in your toolbox. Then if you're stuck trying to figure out what you want to do with a particular something you'll have some options.
Glitterwolf
I use all three on a mini easily. Let's say a Bones mini, I'll prime it in liner, then I will use washes to create shadows after basecoating. Certain details may be picked out with Ink. Take a test mini and try some things out, see what effects you like.
Mad Jack
Since each of them do slightly different things, which one you're going to use depends on which one works best for what you're trying to do. If you're going for something more than a tabletop paint job, there's a pretty good chance that you'll be using more than one of them on the same mini.
