Miniature Painting Secrets dvd

Hi everyone,

I want to buy some painting tutorial dvds and I found "Miniature Painting Secrets" 2 different sets by 2 top artists, but the only one I can seem to buy is a download from CMON from Natalya(Alexi Z)

I would like to get my hands on both the dvd sets instead of just the 1 download. Does anyone here know where I might be able to buy those? I tried Battlefield berlin, it looked like they had it in stock at a discount, but unfortunately they don't have those anymore and won't get them ever again.

Or maybe someone can recommend some other good dvd's?

The best I've seen are the Darksword videos.  Reaper currently stocks one of them by Jessica Rich all three of them.

The one by Anne F. and Jen H. is really good for beginning and intermediate painters:

And the one by Marike R. will challenge anyone (I'm still working my way through them):

Instead of donating money, go to youtube and search paintingbuddha..

Lots of very good stuff.

Well, you should pay for them, since it costs money to make and it's a company that's been struggling for years now but is still cool enough to release the videos for free. Free != free.

For DVDs, depends on your skill level. I'd definitely start with the Jen and Anne set, they're the gold standard for your first DVD set. I personally like Jessica's after that, though Marike's is also great. But they're both a bit more advanced, I wouldn't work through them before you're become comfortable with the stuff in the initial set.

I just got a very good deal offered on that Jen and Anne set from the guys at battlefield berlin as an awesome gusture for the not being able to deliver something they had posted as in stock on their website. I think I will take them up on that offer ::D:

I have a few painting DVDs. The one with Jen is the one I probably got the most out of, DVD-wise. Privateer Press has a good one for beginners. A lot of people came away unhappy with the Natalya one, as she takes a long time to get anywhere and does not pack in a lot of actual instruction or advice, comparative. It's a long DVD.

I think the painter I've got the most out of is Dr. Faust on YouTube. He communicates well as he is painting and gets really good results without doing anything too daunting. And he's free.

I sadly bought the Haley/Natalia videos and they SUCK!!!!, no real teaching, just sped up video of them painting. Also because they know their craft so well they are not great teachers as they have no way to explain the skills that are 2nd nature to them.

I suggest the aforementioned Darksword Videos, as well as Hot Lead which is great for beginners Lazlo was one of the painters I learned from in the beginning and having taken a few of his classes, he is an awesome instructor.

Painting Buddah is great for the production value and technique. I also recommend the James Wapple videos, he too is an awesome painter and teacher.

I kinda feel lucky now that those dvd sets were not available anymore. Next time I have some extra cash to spare I'll look into those Lazlo dvds.

And I will look into those James Wapple videos right now, thanks!
