Yeah, I had an early bird on the Olo, but just dropped it last night. No user reviews of it, no real videos of it in action, slow to answer things... I'll hold off.

Plus, they listed that in 6 months they're planning on making improved versions of it, so thanks early adopters. If it really does work, I'll pick it up, or something similar, then.

Thinking the same.  That or just wait a bit and see what happens with 3d printer pricing in general.  OLO has potential but there's all the stuff you listed above, plus the resin is something like $25CAD/100g.  Very pricey.

As far as this specific campaign, I'm out.  Only three pieces I'm dead set on getting, and I'll just wait for retail to buy either the items or the STL files for them and pay a friend materials cost to print me off a couple of each.  I don't mind filing and smoothing down any layering or other leftover rubbish after the print if it's just a handful of items.  I still have a ton of furniture from Twisting Catacombs that hasn't shipped yet, so chairs and tables and what have you are taken care of.  But the Gothic Bed, Gothic Bath and Dwarven Bath are completely unique pieces.  I drool over them daily.

If all you want is those three pieces and don't want to wait till retail... I can put the .STL files on Shapeways so you can print from there, a couple of bucks.. also the Gothic Bed is free on my website and available on my website. No need to pay for what you don't want.

I already have some shipping quotes in using a fulfillment service for the EU and OZ... Simplifies with only a small cost increas. The rest of the world, pricey but doable. Quotes in for printing.. good. Time required to fill orders for fulfillment.. Hard but doable. I think that with even my Monty Haul Stretch Goals (Everyone is right but I have to deal with it and get it done. Learn from it and move forward. end of discussion) I still can do it.

Basius has just announced a cooperation with StoneSkullStudios concerning Basius 3 ...

That's good news for SSS I guess? Is he going to 3d magick up some scifi pads or something? I'd think the more 'natural' stuff is better being done on greens, which he doesn't do.

Basius is one of those things that I love the idea of, but I'm too lazy to use. I'm only painting Reaper stuff, and I'm okay with their broccoli bases.

I own 3 Basius 2 pads and have made a number of bases ... even a hack like me can get decent results, really like them.

Oh, I agree that they're well made and useful. I just am too lazy to care about a model's base all that much.

I use Hirst Arts molds and make my own molds sometimes. I was thinking of picking up some of the 'forest ground clutter' kinds of pads just to pour plaster on and get some ground texture that I could break up and use for wargame terrain. Maybe some people have done that, I'm not sure. It's the price that was holding me off from trying.

Well, I've seen plugs by companies for KS projects that failed, so I'm iffy on how good this news is.

OTOH, It's definitely good in the sense that SSS will get more experience. I do hope their current KS succeeds, since I like the designs and would like to see the Western and Victorian furniture in their next KS.

Maybe in a few years, the 3D printer will get through the enthusiast-business-consumer cycle and enter the consumer phase, so we won't have to worry about resin and casting production issues!

Pledge manager (beta?) is "online" ... a bit surprising, but suddenly some pieces of furniture take up 2 choices, so you might not get as many pieces as you thought you would. Ironically, I'm totally fine with it as it makes the whole thing a bit more believable (and I want to believe) ... Pledge manager is - at least in my opinion - well done.

This and the partnership with Zealot/Basius makes me risk my money ... (and probably a bit of greed, too) ;)

I am sticking with this one.  Worst case scenario it will be a good lesson learned.  Best case scenario I get a bunch of awesome pieces to enhance my games.  I really NEED that Gypsy wagon in my life! I am going to have a ton of gothic pieces.  I will have to pick up the dwarven and elven stuff at retail.

If anything the recent clampdowns on stretch goals encourage me.  Still think I'm going to sit this out, but I think the chances of success improve with every pullback.  I just got a significant tax return, so the $25 level is not completely out the question, but I've got the evening to think it over.  I really just want those baths.  Lawl.

Edit: Made up my mind.  Waiting for (if) retail.
