Beowulfthehunter
My FB feed has been full of people letting me know about the unpainted minis from Wizkids. Apparently they are releasing blisters of unpainted minis, monsters, and accessories. The upshot is they come preprimed in actual primer and seem less bendy then Bones. I wonder if Reaper has to worry?http://icv2.com/articles/news/view/33979/new-unpainted-miniatures-line
Kheprera
Nah. Reaper has a solid fanbase and Wizkids manages to price gouge.
haldir
I welcome all miniatures to the hobby. I'll prob get some of these but really I wanna see what they offer first. Hopefully unlike Wiz's other lines they aren't blind box buys.
Hibou
I like the idea of a low level and high level sculpt of the same figure. Its sort of like the Rafm Call of Cthutlu figures that get progressively more insane. I will pick some up specifically because the D&D licensed monsters. The only thing currently available are the GF9 resins which are lovely but cost prohibitive.
BLZeebub
Very tempting. I know little to nothing about WizKids, but I do like the D&D figures.
Doug Sundseth
I want to get one of those Heron packs. Maybe I'll get one of the super-rare egrets. They actually look pretty nice, given the horrible quality of the picture illustrating the article.
Inarah
They had unpainted metal clix back in the 90's IIRC, and those were no threat to anyone.
Evilhalfling
I need more details on this one. If the price is right, I am intrigued by the concept.

Popular Post kitchen_wolf
Already primed sounds great until you realize it means "dipped in primer straight off the production line, flash, mold lines, and assembly errors included at no extra charge". There's also no price range mentioned as yet. If they could release them in blisters for a buck apiece like Disney princess figurines (don't judge me), Bones might have to fight hard for retail space. As is, it's just more choice. It's not like mini purchases are like cars that you only buy every few years at most, so that a competitor is a big deal. Truthfully, it's about time that Wizkids realized that there's been a huge community of PVC enthusiasts converting and repainting their minis for at least 15 years.

That's.... an unfortunately good point.
Werkrobotwerk
The more interesting part of this, at least for me is "item packs". If the price is reasonable I am always up for more terrain bits.

Ditto, I dont see enough of these terrain pieces in "plastic." I like the idea of buying a pack with fire pits, chairs, etc etc. scatter bits. Pippin
Hold up, kitchen_wolf, does that mean there are 28mm Disney Princess figures?!?!? And other than a typo suggesting I might be able to buy a heron pack rather than a boring old hero pack, price would be the most significant factor. That and the material they're made with as Bones are so gloriously convertible. If they're a harder plastic, it's really not much different from buying painted plastic minis and just repainting them to me. kitchen_wolf
Dollar Tree sells Disney princess (and other characters) figurines for a buck apiece. The scale is bigger than 28mm, but fine for larger-than-life statuary. But Hasslefree does do a figure that bears a striking resemblance to Elsa.
