60011: Lem, Iconic Halfling Bard

Recommended Posts

Quick tabletop job for a friend. Crappy pictures as I did not have time to get out the good stuff so my Table War case and iPad had to stand in. Coat looks off in the photos as my friend requested a shimmery coat so I did a metallic wash. In person it looks fantastic.

I love this figure. You've done a nice version of him, and I think the coat works in the photos.

He's so cute! Great expression on the face, really well done. I like the colors you chose for him, especially his hair color. Very nice!

Good job :)

Good Job!

Especially the face!

Thanks!

This little guy has always been one of my favorites but this was the first opportunity I have had to paint him. My friend made it easy by pretty much giving me free reign with him. The only things he asked for were red hair, gold accents, colorful, and the shimmery coat.

Another delightful sculpt from Oathsworn Sensible Shoes line, the Tabaxi Monk/Mage/Bard (SS38).  Had some trouble settling on the color scheme, so she sat half painted for quite a while.

The two minis from the bones IV core set just look like they want to battle, so I made them ;)

In an unusual turn of events, I ended up painting the same miniature three times this week.  First one was for a customer who wanted the bard from Dark Sword Miniatures but without the pipe in his hand.  So it was replaced with a glowing musical note.  Red armour, blue clothes, yellow cloak.   While I was working on it, a different customer wanted the same bard but just a quick paint job for a sidekick NPC in his D&D game.  Of course, no pipe for the second bard either.  Brown armour, green cloak.  I think I spent more time on the base than painting him.  While I was working on the second one, the first customer decided he didn't like the colour scheme and could I change a couple of things.    No problem, I'm happy to do it.  But there is OSL and all kinds of other stuff, so it was actually much easier just to start again from scratch.  So I painted him a third time.  Red cloak, grey clothes.

Bones 4 core set #20.  Could not find a release # for him yet.  I took this guy and a few of his pals to Reapercon to work on in my spare time (ha!) and got him base coated using some of the new Pathfnder paint set.  I couldn't help but notice the chickens and the look of terror on his face, thus the name.   Finished him with a basic drybrush and wash for table top play.
