fishnjeeps
Still working on my terrain. I picked up this Fanasy arc building a while back and finally got it assembled only to find out I'm missing a piece. Still, it will work for now. I'm slowly adding the cladding to the building. There is a LOT of cladding to add. I also pickup these pipes from Ishtars workshop. They work great as power conduits from the power generator to the gun turrent. I'll be posting a Battle Report showing off the terrain in game.
hosercanadian
If you wan some more pipes and freedom to go crazy, Ishtar is a distributor of Hirst Arts pieces. What piece was missing from the building?

What piece was missing from the building? I may buy a few more pipes next time I go to my FLGS that carries them, I'm not sure I need a whole lot more just yet. I need some mountains next I think. The missing building piece is one of the short lobby pieces. I might be able to make a cardboard piece to replace it. I know I had it when I bought the model, it's just lost in my painting area. Sergeant_Crunch
If you're looking to continue using foam core, there's a tool you can buy that will make it easy to cut rabbit joints. You set it to the depth of the board and it will leave a little flap of the backing paper to cover the joints for a cleaner presentation. It all looks very good!

Arc 724
I could see a CAV trying to get ontop of that third set of shipping containers and having to rull a change that it comes toppling down.

Its a house rule that none of the buildings are capable of supporting the weight of a CAV. Though infantry can embark/disembark a building as if it was a transport. It also give heavy cover (+2) to infantry inside. Cavs can enter and exit the Mach Bay though.
fishnjeeps
I just received my newest CAV scale building. It is an N scale Tomix Medium office building. These aren't the cheapest buildings available but man are they well detailed.I ordered mine from Amazon. The decals that are included are for 2 different building types. I went with the cinema for this building. I'll likely buy a second one and use the second set of decals for 2 different but similar buildings. Below are pictures which are way better than I can describe them... In its packaging... Everything in the box... The buildings can be easily disasembled for detailing and ease of decal setting. Since this is for model railroading its also easy to light this up if you wanted to... Completed decals... And the back side... A scale shot with my malvernis CAV and Infantry... And with my terran CAV and tanks...
KruleBear
Nice terrain. The repair bay is nice and those lava lakes look nice with your paint job. I bought some N scale stuff, but the price really turned me off on buying more, so thanks for sharing your scratch build idea. Btw...it drives me nuts as well when I finally assemble something I have had sitting around for a pwhile and am missing parts. I feel too guilty to request the missing pieces...this really worries me with all the Kickstarter Laser cut wood items I have purchased.

Now I can finish that building. Also, the lava isn't finished yet. I now have 2 more sets (6 pools total) of lava. I'm going to do one set in an acid green instead of lava.
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted May 5, 2016 Moderator Share Posted May 5, 2016 That movie theater fits very nicely with CAV stuff. Nice job!
Sergeant_Crunch
I've meant to buy some of the Tomix stuff for about 6 years now. Never seem to get around to it.
Pingo
I've meant to buy some of the Tomix stuff for about 6 years now. Never seem to get around to it. I've picked up a few off Amazon. I really like their traditional Japanese buildings. The price bounces all over the place (thanks, Amazon!). But at the moment I think the dollar is strong and the yen not so much so they aren't too bad. Kato N scale makes a Denny's.
fishnjeeps
I only have the one so far, but I'll likely add one to my monthly amazon purchases.
dispatchdave
For Tomix/Tomytec and Kato, I use plazajapan on eBay. Seems to be cheaper than Amazon, but ships from Japan.
