Yes, rates would suggest it's shipping from the UK. And they actually list EU shipping as cheaper than US shipping, which means those rates may actually sort of reflect relative costs.

Some RPG crates I'm aware of but no Mini specific ones..

Yeah, I'm aware of quite a few RPG ones and nerdy/comic/loot, etc ones. Never head of a mini/hobby only crate. I like the idea, but I think it's against KS rules and told them so.

It's a neat idea, but the wandering box of good will largely fulfills this purpose for me.

I see it as a great gift idea when you know someone wargames/paints but don't know what they are into. But knowing what you like collecting/painting why would you pay a large chunk of money for random stuff that you may hate.

To me it would be like getting a random computer game in the post when you've paid the full price for one, only to get it and think it's meh

I might be interested in something like this, but not as long as it sounds there's nothing but Mantic in the way of miniatures. I mean, I'm not the only one who thinks it sounds like Mantic are the only actual miniatures in there, am I?

I might be generally interested, but not with Mantic as a partner ... (I got one Mantic Christmas box and it contained some of the worst miniatures I have ever seen - the Basilean men-at-arms).

Bingo. You might get Basilean M@A, or you might get some of their Deadzone plague zombies. Who knows?

I feel like this is the sort of thing that would be better done by an online retailer with an extensive inventory as a way to move excess stock.

I like the idea which is why I'm watching a couple of other crate type businesses that hopefully are a bit more US friendly on shipping; rpg crate (first box is being worked on) and dungeon crate (second box should mail out soon).

I like the idea, but 31 pounds for what is on that picture (at random), not worth it. I also don't like non-fantasy minis, which it seems to include. And yeah against KS rules. I really like the concept, but the value is just not that good.
