Things haven't been going well.

He went in yestreday to start the clinical treatment, but his liver enzymes were far too high. It is suspected it is the pain killers he is on.

He went back today for a liver ultrasound and to talk with the doctor. He's not rejected from the trial just yet, as long as his liver readings stay where they are he should be okay to continue, they just wanted to do further tests before trying. He doesn't know when he'll go back and try again, they'll get results of the ultrasound next week

That brings back memories that I had forgotten about. Hoping that they can get the levels back down, just be patient.

What have they said about chances the drug may work, and how long on average are they hoping for?

regardless I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and pray for the best possible outcomes.

i am not sure about the chances it'll work, though I know it isn't going to cure him.

He has 2 tumors, one at the base of his tongue and one in the marrow of his jawbone. The one at the base of his tongue is the subject of this trial, there is nothing they can do for the one in his jaw. Removing the tongue one will relieve him of pain, so that is the goal, to increase his quality of life

they estimate that if it works a year, to maybe a year and a half
