CAV SO Bones - more Rach (Malefactors and Kahn)

Hi all,

 

I'm slowly continuing to paint my CAV Rach force following my simple Dark Gray and Red scheme.

Here are the Malefactors tanks and the small Recon CAV Kahn.

Also, since I found a pretty simple recipe to give a basic glow effect to lasers and lights, I started to add it almost everywhere...

They look great! The scheme may be simple, but it's very effective! Your "green glow" effect is excellent, especially since you're achieving it on such small little pinpoint light sources

Sure, there is no Secret Recipe on this forum.

I first put a dot of white where the light source would be (the brightest spot)

Then I use a simple craft paint "Neon Green" that I thin a lot to give it a lot of transparency and I smudge it on the white dot and around.

That is my cheap OSL effect that you are seeing there. But it works well enough for my level.

Skrill: I would not call the OSL effects "cheap". It's amazing. So convincing I had to remind myself that you didn't actually put little lights in the minis.

I guess I will have to paint my Terran forces as GDI :)

Loving these! And Tosek is spot-on with the NOD reference, even the logo is a similar style. A GDI Falcon would be just perfect!
